Honestly, I don't think someone/anyone rushing to the hosptial is an indication of anything. Except friendship.
Most of these Congress Critters are in Washington without family. So there's no one to go to the hosptial with them. Someone needs to be there with the patient to get information to relay it to the family.
No excuses for the news media, though. Megan Kendall just did a whole segment a half hour ago, complete with a graphic of the Senate make-up, explaining how this could tip the balance.
Meanwhile, we still don't know what's wrong with Senator Johnson. It sounds to me like he may have had a bleeding aneurism in the brain. That would be the only explanation I can think of for doing surgery in the middle of the night.
Senator Johnson's son is in Iraq, serving with the Armed Forces. I hope the senator recovers quickly.
Megan's back with more.
I think it's entirely possible Reid went to the hospital to find out exactly 'what' he's going to be dealing with as far as will Johnson be out for a long time or or he need to be replaced (by a Republican Governor).
But I also know that when a group of people are far from home and someone takes ill, it's not unusual from someone from the group to accompany them to the hospital in order to be a line of communication with their families.
Fox just said he was in critical condition. I am not sure if that is accurate or simply loose use of language by the reporters.
Most of what we'll hear today will be speculation. I'm glad I'll be busy and unable to follow the story.
Confirmed critical condition after surgery.
It's going to mild enought to garden today!
The very fact that Nelson, Kerry, and possibly Dodd are meeting w/the President of Syria is abhorrent... not just a stab in the back for OUR President, but gives aid and comfort to our enemy.
I don't know about Quinn, but I've wondered if anyone has even seen Laurie Dhue since she left FOX. Except for this morning, I haven't turned on the TV to F&F for weeks.
To add to the stress, half the Christmas tree lights went out last night. Of course, they are the ones in the middle of the tree. We will be re-decorating this Sunday.
On a lighter note, MR HOB and I went to a Christmas choir program that our little neighbor was in last night. It only lasted 40 minutes but it was really good! They are 5th graders.
