'Wish they would keep him. He's probably brought along his camcorder to film his historic meeting w/the President of one of our enemies. And no doubt he'll also be writing a NYT op-ed and/or book about his SOLVING the terrorist threat by talking/negotiating (illegal) w/them. Jim Baker...move over. Get lost, President Bush: "Here Kerry comes to save the day!"

Back from my walk....30 minutes

Taking only 30 minute walks till I build up my stamina again...

..having those two 'surgeries' sidelined me for a month...
..first my ear, then my leg....

The sky is gloomy looking, and it's humid out.

Tonight daughter and Jellybean and I are going to our giant outdoor mall for a discount shopping spree...

...We have to buy tickets, but 40 stores will have significant discounts (they say) and also kiosks of food will be available...(I assume the food is included in the ticket, if not, I will not be a happy shopper)

And the tickets will be used for drawings later on in the evening.

Our outdoor mall is a fairly new concept...they just keep adding stores as they go along...

So far we have a movie theater, a large assortment of restaurants like Mimi's, Chilie's, Steak n Shake, Melting Pot (fondue), Mos (TexMex), Doc Greens (salads), Asian Too, Panera, a steakhouse, etc...

..and a Coldwater Creek, Belks, BooksaMillion, OldNavy, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc etc...tons of small stores....all situated around a main courtyard...

Strangely enough, it's designed so one can easily walk around the giant complex easily enough...

They've decorated for Christmas with green shrubbery reindeer :))

Our weather report for tomorrow: Thursday Rain. Strong winds developing. Highs 50 to 55. South wind 20 to 35 mph increasing to 30 to 45 mph in the afternoon with gusts to 75 mph coastal communities. South wind 35 to 50 mph with gusts to 100 mph near beaches and headlands.

We had winds last night that we so scary. A couple of times I sat up in bed praying the roof would stay on. The sounds were ominous.

Tomorrow is going to be be a bad day windwise...75 mph with gusts to 100 mph for those of us living a mile from the ocean. Please keep us in your prayers,

Prayers for you and those who live along the coast bev. I remember many a flight I took or was taken off because of the weather this time of year. This time of year along the West coast can be miserable. We were not allowed to land at Annette Island, AK if the winds were over 75 mph.

Good for you, IG! Feeling better now, I hope.

That kind of wind, bev, is really scary. And to think, you have more coming tomorrow. Prayer for your safety, my friend. Check in when you can.

One of those raids occurred in Marshalltown Iowa. There's a big story about it in this morning's Des Moines Register, but we aren't allowed to link to it because it's a Gannatt organization.

In the URL, Des Moines is reduced to dm. It's a dot com URL

How did the Swift plant management know that 40% of their work force would be affected if they did not knowingly hire illegals?

My bigger problem is the reaction of the Mexican Government...

Mexico's Foreign Relations Department pledged to ensure that any Mexicans caught up in Tuesday's raid have "their human rights fully respected, and are given all the necessary assistance, orientation and consular protection."

I would hope (I know it's a long shot, but...) the State Department would tell Mexico to sit down, shut up, and fix their internal affairs so folks wouldn't stream north.

Illegals say they will keep trying to come back into the United States if we send them home.

All right.

Let's set up a camp for them--central Alaska sounds good.

Winter--Temperatures that might reach -20F as a high.

Summer--More bugs and mosquitos than you can count.

...fix their internal affairs....And stop interfering w/OUR internal affairs. Good grief, we don't tel them what they should do w/criminals...and that is exactly what these illegals are: Criminals subject to OUR laws.

They incorrectly labeled the story. The meetings occurred in Washington.

It figures.

Everybody else I know who wants to know what the mood is in Iowa holds meetings out of state and invite people who don't even live there to the meetings.

She's on a roll, I tell you! She will not do well here until she arrives to lick the soles of the shoes of the activists.
