0-3 and 113 points allowed in 3 games! Losses to the Falcons and the 49ers are completely unacceptable. You know things are bad when the biggest comeback in team history (21 point defecit made up week 2 against the Packers) ends in a loss by 23 points! Even I have been in denial about the Lions inability to play football. Last week I still had hope of them making a run at the playoffs and is why I published "The Detroit Lions will make the 2008 NFL playoffs; 10 reasons why". I am not only over my ignorance, I now believe that Marinelli cannot save his job, and hopefully neither can Matt Millen. Rod Marinelli will be fired in 2008.
Firing coaches exacerbates the problem, because there's already chaos on the team. Get it, Ford?Ford's a lurker.
Fire Millen. It's the only thing that hasn't been tried. The season's a goner, and Millen has fired coaches left and right, and hired more. At least we few remaining fans would have something to look back on fondly as we regard another wasted season of Lions football. *

Lions went through 3 Quarterbacks, and became the punch line of countless jokes as they lost their first 11 games... go on to finish with a franchise worst 14 losses... 2002... fans in Detroit called for the jobs of GM Matt Millen and Coach Marty Morhinweg... even louder when he chose to kickoff in overtime in a November 24th road game against the Chicago Bears... 3-13 record... 2003... Steve Mariucci... in last place again with a 5-11 record.... 2004... 6-10 record... RB Kevin Jones... 1,133 [yards?]... WR Roy Williams... 8 Touchdowns... 817 yards in receptions. 2005... lost 3 of their first 5 games... Fans fed up and frustrated began to call for the ouster of GM Matt Millen, as Coach Steve Mariucci was discarded like the Turkey carcass... Interim Coach Dick Jauron... Lions would win just 1 of their final 7 games... 5-11 record... Rod Marinelli... new head coach... QB Joey Harrington was released. 2006... Lions started 0-5... ending the season with a win over the Dallas Cowboys as they finished 3-13... Thanksgiving loss to the Miami Dolphins was especially hard to swallow, as Joey Harrington returned with a chorus of boos, and led the Dolphins to a 27-10 win with three touchdown passes. 2007... started... QB Jon Kitna... 6-2... [lost] six in a row... a losing record again at 7-9... Jon Kitna did everything he could; passing for over 4,000 yards for the second straight season.
