That’s a switch — lack of Kitna is being touted as the reason for the Lions’ loss to the SB champs. But anyway, the schedule:

September 9, at Raiders
September 16, Vikings
September 23, at Eagles
September 30, Bears
October 7, at Redskins
October 21, Buccaneers
October 28, at Bears
November 4, Broncos
November 11, at Cardinals
November 18, Giants
Thanksgiving, Packers
December 2, at Vikings
December 9, Cowboys
December 16, at Chargers
December 23, Chiefs
December 30, at Packers

G’wan, predict outcomes, I dare ya. ;’)

Lions — undefeated, tied for first with Green Bay.

It’s been some years since they were 2 and 0, but I’m not sure how many.

They play the Eagles on the 23rd, and the Eagles play (I believe) tomorrow’s Monday Night Football game, so they’ll have only six days. Lions will be on the road. They won’t be getting any breaks in Philadelphia, so they’d better be on their game, stick with it, and not turn the ball over.

Today’s game against the Vikings was a messy affair, with something like 600 yards total offense, maybe it was higher. There were many turnovers, including one which helped decide the game in overtime. It looked like neither team truly wanted to win it. Bad, bad, bad.

Officiating wasn’t particularly bad, a nice change.

The Lions may surprise me, but I don’t see much to cheer about for the duration of the season. Before the Eagles loss, I thought the Lions might split with Green Bay, beat the Vikings and Bears twice each, and go .500 against everyone else, maybe make a wild card berth.

At this point, their play is so pathetic — beginning with a truly awful offensive line — that I don’t see the Lions winning more than a couple more games — one against the Vikings, and one against someone else on the schedule (you pick one).

Coming soon — “Kitna’s just not getting it done.”

(season so far)

September 9, at Raiders (won)
September 16, Vikings (won)
September 23, at Eagles (lost)
September 30, Bears (won)
October 7, at Redskins (lost)

(predicted outcomes, with the above proviso)

October 21, Buccaneers (win?)
October 28, at Bears (win?)
November 4, Broncos (loss)
November 11, at Cardinals (loss)
November 18, Giants (win?)
Thanksgiving, Packers (loss)
December 2, at Vikings (win)
December 9, Cowboys (loss)
December 16, at Chargers (loss)
December 23, Chiefs (win?)
December 30, at Packers (loss)

So, if they were to win as shown, the best finish would be 8-8. As noted above, I’ll guess 5-11.
