I just looked on Google maps and I don't see any swamps around those exits, unless it's just a swampy creek, you know, between mile marker 139 and 140?

I believe the location is ENE from Raliegh just south of Rocky Mount. If you look at the route you will see a "river" or creek that travels under the highway.

Tar River and Stoney Creek are in that general area (highway 64 and I95, which is exit 138, my old exit)... and IIRC, lots of smaller, unnamed creeks and swampy areas along those creeks.
