The helicopter pilot said you most likely wouldn't be able to see it from the road, as he could barely make it out from the air.
I have seen it called a guardrail; it must be right near a small embankment or bridge.
You mean that you aren't going to go photograph it, so that certain people on this thread will believe it? How uncharitable of you. It can't possibly be true(sarc.)
I will have my husband go down there and do an accident recreation.........LOL.
He was talking about the car.
Here is what he said about the tire tracks...again this is from YOUR post. Why would the pilot (your source as you claim) said "obviously probably seeing the skid marks leading off the side of the road"
DUFFY: I`m not sure that we can actually take full credit for spotting the car. At the same time that we arrived searching the area, a state trooper also pulled up, obviously probably seeing the skid marks leading off the side of the road.
GRACE: So there were skid marks?
DUFFY: There weren`t any black marks on the asphalt, but from the air it was visible, tire tracks leaving the road surface going into the swampy area, yes, ma`am.
And that is exactly what Rte66 and I were talking about.
The rest of your post makes no sense.
Are you sure that you can't see the tire tracks leaving the road down the embankment?
Based on one of the news reports last night (video) you can clearly see the tracks leading away from the road.
Also the pilot made the comment in an interview on CNN that he arrived at the area the same time LE was stopping "probably seeing the skid marks leading off the side of the road."
So I asked if anyone has a photo of the skidmarks...seems like a logical and reasonable request...unless of course you don't want people to understand how it is possible for them not to see the tracks last week...a simple photo could clear up that issue.
Here's a suggestion--Take a road trip up north, and take photo's. We're holding our breath waiting to see them. We'll wait for you.....
Once again you have some of the facts mixed up.
I posted a comment about the skid marks and I continue to wonder why they weren't seen last week.
Rte66 responded to my post and said that it was an embankment and you wouldn't be able to see. Since the reply by Rte66 was to my post it is reasonable to assume we are still talking about the skid marks.
Since you replied to Rte66 then you must have been speaking about the skid marks as well.
I do not question whether they could see the car or not...in fact in my early posts I made the specific comment about the area that anyone that drives off the road you would NOT be able to see the car from the road in a lot of cases because of the woods, swamp, etc...
Again the main issue is the skid marks.
That's because he didn't know that an hour earlier the highway employee had found the tracks and called the Highway Patrol.
""Shane Duffy, the chief pilot with Executive Helicopters, said he was circling the swamp - about eight miles north of the Rocky Mount, N.C., airport - and spotted the car at about the same time police arrived at 4:30 p.m. He said he saw tire tracks that looked like a car had slid sideways off the east side of the highway into a 20-foot-wide creek just before a small bridge. "Exactly how or why would just be a shot in the dark," Duffy said. "
Don't even try to characterize that as me mixing up the facts.
Rte66 knew what I was talking about; evidently he's not as easily confused as you are.
I wasn't born in a cabin, although we moved to one as soon as we could afford it...
>>I wasn't born in a cabin, although we moved to one as soon as we could afford it...<,
Me too!!
LOL...
I thought you implied you lived in a bear cave
Once again Howlin...go back to post 366. You made the statement that the both of you were discussing the car and not the skid marks.
I don't think you should put words into Rte66's mouth either. If Rte66 read my post which was replied to I am confident Rte66 figured out we were discussing the skid marks.
Knee slappin' Funny---
Wow- -your wit just amazes me......
See posts 22 and 166...
You're "confident" about a lot of stuff that turns out not to be true.
FINE! Everybody and their dog saw the skid marks, except LE, who just chose to ignore them because they don't like people from South Carolina. There!
