Thanks!
You're quite welcome, and I hope that you and yours might find something to enjoy here :-)
An aside to All...
After reading the above review of Milton's Paradise Lost by Thomas G. West, I became intrigued with the notion of hearing timeless classics in audiobook form. I was astonished to find that my local library had available for FREE download such titles as
Paradise Lost - John Milton
How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization - Thomas E. Woods, jr. PHD (Read by the author!)
The Question of God: C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud debate God, Love, Sex, and the Meaning of Life
A Year with C.S. Lewis -C.S. Lewis
James Earl Jones Reads the Bible (The entire New Testament, unabridged)
Siddhartha - Herman Hesse
and many more titles worthy of a thoughtful person's time.
I'm new to audiobooks but I thought that it might be nice to try one the next time I need to take a long car trip. Commuters who are forced to spend a great deal of time in the car every day might be interested in this also....I understand that audiobooks are very popular with longhaul truckers.
My library uses the Overdrive Media digital rights system, and so I had to install a small free software application in order to be able to download the books but the limitations on the titles vary widely and many can be burned to CD,. making them worthy fodder for your car's CD player. So far, I've found the Overdrive software to be very stable, nonintrusive and easy to use.
I don't know yet how the enjoyment of literature or my retention of the information compares with using 'dead-tree' books, but it seems a worthy expenditure of my time to find out.
