IMO, Taylor Hicks is a high-energy entertainer. But he has very little vocal talent and musical knowledge. His performances during the competition were mostly incompetent. He won for his silver hair and the audience wanting to stick it to Simon. He's not in for the long haul in the pop business(thank goodness). Also, and I have this on very good authority, he is a huge jerk/diva behind-the-scenes. AI knows he stinks, and they are not promoting him like they have the others, rather they are promoting the show. That says a lot about how bad they know Taylor is.

You can listen to his cd and if you take the time to dig around you will be surprised at what you find about Taylor. As far as promotions he's all over the tv on various programs.

Why would you say he's not in it for the long haul? How many would stick it out for 10+ years while banging on doors begging the A&R people to listen to his two independent cd's?

You are talking out of your butt. He has a top-notch producer for his CD (Santana, Matchbox 20) and the AI show doesn't do the promoting of the winners once they are done touring. His knowledge of music is actually quite deep, as far as talent that is your subjective opinion, which is obviously biased beyond rationality.

Whatever Idol you thought should have won, get over it and move on to the next season! You sound ridiculous, bitter and ill-informed hijacking this thread with your repeated over-the-top denunciations. Taylor earned his success and he has plenty of fans, without you, to be around for a long time.
