Ping lists are a type of ListServ used on FreeRepublic by persons who share like-minded passions.

Some Cyber Sisters "ping" each other to mount verbal assaults on posters who have opposing views.

It gets quite messy, as you will see momentarily.

Good luck George

And that's the second violation you've committed in this thread according to FreeRepublic decorum, Phil.

IMO, you're lucky it was 2AM and the moderator didn't respond to my hitting the abuse button on you. Don't ever speak to me again....please.

I do not know exactly what a ListServ is but I do think we need to invent a new Freeper term for those who cannot resist attempting to respond to every curious/odd post like this with a pithy one-liner. Sometimes those replies are witty, sometimes they are juvenile and other times they are not well thought out and fall flat.

The kind of snide remark that has turned this place from a place like Jefferson, Washington and Hamilton used to debate into the bitter cesspool it is becoming

That's Rich. I actually forgot to put a smiley at the end. It was a Forrest gump statement, but oh well, make it a referendum about me. If you think this is a cesspool, you've never visited usenet or most web forums.

Republican Congress's last gasp:

legislation that would open 8.3 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico to oil and natural gas drilling and redistribute billions of dollars in royalties to four Gulf states. The drilling measure was wrapped into a broad tax and trade package that the U.S. Senate approved by a 79-9 vote, hours after the House of Representatives approved it

support for extending expired tax breaks, including the research and development tax credit for businesses, sales tax deductions for people in states without income taxes, the tax deduction on college tuition, a tax credit for hiring welfare recipients and others facing difficulties finding jobs and tax credits for alternative energy producers and purchases of solar energy equipment by homeowners and businesses.

to permanently normalize trade with Vietnam and extend trade benefits for four Andean nations, sub-Saharan African countries and Haiti. Approved the Bush treaty with India, to bring them into the nuclear club without penalty as a potential partner and ally in Asia.

to ensure the families of five firefighters killed in Southern California can get more than $1 million in donations despite an IRS snag and lots of other constituent issue items.
