OK.
Who's still crafting?
What are you doing?
Got any pictures?
Did I tell you I never kitchener? There's more than one way to finish a toe!
I have dreams of tatting ornaments for a small Christmas tree for 2007. I would do a tiny tree (2 feet high). The tatted ornaments are tiny (1" to 2" across.) I have already tatted about 10, I think I would need 50. That is what I am working on right now.
Anybody awake?
So far, this calender year, I have:
hemmed most of a runner for my china cabinet
not put a single stitch on my half-knit sock
started playing with my spinning wheel after about three years of just looking at it.
Spun a little on my drop spindle
(Last year, I did spin and knit a pair of socks for hubby. I have goals to do something like that again.)
Thought about getting out my quilting frame, but can't decide if I want to make a one piece quilt or a piecework quilt. (Of course, I haven't even found one of my 3 irons yet, they are still packed in boxes, so I doubt if this project gets started yet.)
Discovered that to read wearing my glasses (which are lineless bifocals), I have to put on magnifiers. And if I want to see the fabric up close any more when it's time to do really delicate work, I do better with magnifiers, too.
Now I know why I am running around the house with my glasses perched on top of my head. I really do see better up close and at midrange without them right now.
Now I wonder if I can count using my spinning wheel (it's a two pedal number) as exercise....
I know it's not needlework but yesterday I finally, after several years, got my husband to set up my workspace for drawing and have roughed in a drawing of my parents on the night that they became engaged. They're both gone now and it makes me a little weepy to work this project but I've wanted to draw this photo for a long time. Oh, and I started another Christmas stocking because I found the kit for $2 at the half price book store. :-)
Good morning! About a week and a half ago I finally finished a scarf to go with my new coat. I started on a blanket and my goal is to finish it in 2007. LOL
I'm still waiting for my sprained finger to heal. I've been reading a lot of blogs.....
I keep saying I'm going to get back into painting, but I have put it off for 5 years. Go figure. I wasn't that bad at it, either.
I haven't gotten past the graphic stage, working from old family photos but it's great therapy to get into those faces from the past. I would love to do landscapes, watercolor I think.
I actually appliqued today, but my hand is killing me. I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow.
Sometimes it takes a long time. I laid off of knitting for most of a year because of strains. Now I only work for short stretches a time, and try to vary the crafts I do.
Mine is from an injury, and the doctor told me it was sprained.
The doctor was at Prompt care, and didn't even do an x-ray. I'm calling my own Doctor tomorrow to ask for one.
I don't blame you...got to take care of those hands!
I've been a very busy bee!!
I finished the pink camo blanket (it's a round ripple!!), a dozen snowflakes, hats, and a bookmark! I've started a Log Cabin afghan, and a teddy bear made with thread.....
Oh, and about a dozen squares to contribute to various afghans around the country!
