Heh! I called him and let him know...he's stopping by Lowes on the way home.

What I did was, I got some duct tape and ran a strip all along the bottom of the tiles...that way, when the caulk was removed, if a tile was loose it wouldn't just fall and shatter (tiles being almost 40 years old, you know).

Good thing I did. One tile *was* loose...I reinforced it with more tape, but it will need to be re-applied using adhesive and then re-grouted.

Then I removed all the caulk by cutting a hole in it with a razor then gently pulling it out. Then I scraped off the residual with the razor.

Then I got my handy-vac and cleaned up all the little pieces.

Then I sprayed it with clorox solution and left it to dry while we were at Latin. It looks great now...clean and ready for new caulk.

I think the caulk removal is actually the hard part. Steve is gonna love me! :-)

I may treat myself to a manicure, however...my nails are ragged!
