Gunner didn't actually eat it...just chewed it all to pieces. My dad had an old cell that he activated for me. Not the nice flip up that I had, but at least I didn't have to pay $$$ for a new one. On the bright side, in 1 1/2 years my contract will be up and I can upgrade...and every time I use this "new" phone I will be reminded of my puppy (and my lack of attention to keep things from him). :-)
He's a good dog, and will grow out of the chewing stage (maybe by the time I get my new phone). We came home the other day after being gone all day and there he was down at the pond. It was freezing out and the water on his fur quickly turned to ice.

Hm...we should get him together with Cisco some time. Reckon they'd have a BLAST.
Sam was awful in his chewing stage. We lost the corners of several throw rugs and a couple of blankets. Jr. had a collection of miniature Star Trek ships, many of which will never make warp drive again.
But, the odd thing was, with Luke's toys all over the floor, I think he chewed up one of them. And only partly on that. He learned those were Luke's toys, not his.
Now he completely ignores Luke's toys. It's the cat that likes to bat them around.
Well, we're relieved to hear Gunner didn't actually ~ eat ~ the phone. Though we're still sorry to hear about the phone's demise.
Labs are chewers, no doubt about it. Gifford was one and most of the labs we familiar with have ventured right up to and occasionally both front paws over edge that separates the living from the recently departed. Somehow they manage not to stray too far over the line. :-)
They do settle down in a few years, usually.
