I've never flown Southwest, but as I recall, they don't do arranged seating.

Nope. It's a cattle call. Do like OT says and check in online. You don't even have to print the boarding passes - just check in. That's what I do when I have to fly SW. (*shudder*) Then when you go in to the counter your boarding group is reserved and you can get your boarding pass and check the bags.

My Mom used to fly SW all the time. And she would literally get up at midnight to do the online check in. Had to get that "A"!

Heh. They changed it to 24 hours before so now you don't have to stay up 'til midnight.

Okay...boarding could be better, but when things go wrong, the Southwest people are great at getting them right again. They've held up flights just so people could make their connections.

Sister-in-law was pretty adament that you can't use those unless you aren't checking baggage. Didn't want me to print any passes for them. I think she's wrong, but I dunno if I should just go ahead and print theirs or what...
