The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Posted on 12/01/2006 12:55:15 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

That thing cost more than 3x my bike. Maybe I could rig up something involving jack stands.

Nice. I've seen those at Performance and such. In my case, I've always had mountain bikes, and I'm not sure how they'd work with it...seems like you'd need slicker tires for the thing to work right. But the concept is good!

It does cost more than $20, though. I'm really thinkin' I might as well give that thing a shot. Could certainly resell it for the same if'n it doesn't work out. I never regretted my last cheap exercise equipment purchase - that treadmill I had until I moved.

It's way, way cheaper than a Spinner bike, though.

And even at Walmart you can't get a new bike for much less than that...

Hey... that's pretty cool. Have you tried one of those flat roller-type units? Any report of what's good/bad about them?

I've been looking at bikes, and I'm going to set up a place in the house to ride stationary... but want to just use the bike to do it.

The thread. We just aren't as chatsey as we used to be.

I've been chatsey whilst wandering Middle Earth. I've needed to blow off some steam.

Anyhoo.. hi.

I really like the *idea* of rollers...but my guess is if I ever tried 'em, I'd do a lot of falling flat on my face. Seems like balance would be tricky.

We need to revive the elf wars. :)

I'll bite.

ELVES RULE. DWARVES DROOL.

Boy. That felt good.

Sure wish the ol' < blink > tag still worked.

We have a hybrid 21 speed we use with it... knobby tires...

It was an investment, to be sure, but this is the only real heavy cardio my body can take... runnin' wrecks whats left of my knees, hips, and back... I peddle till I puke on this for 45-60 minutes, and I feel great...

The money I've saved the past two years on good running shoes has more than paid for it...

no, I never really checked into those... I needed something stable that we could use our bike on, and this fits the bill... very stable...

Elves rule so much they skedadled back across the sea.

Of course Dwarves drool...it's all that red meat off the bone. *drool, drool*

Anyhoo...I'm trying to get muh veggie beds planned. Maybe I should just go ahead and get a square foot garden type book.

Well, I would be more chatsey than I am, but unfortunately the net_gods where I work block FR's post function. I can read the thread but I can't say anything. :-/

'Course, I can't get to FReepmail at all, so I guess being able to read the thread is better than nothing....
