I think my cat's official classification is "Big Lazy Fattie with Orangish Stripes." Wow, cool, my girls must be related - they are "Big Lazy Fattie with Grey or Brown Stripes." My breeder was the local shelter. ;)

I know, they are very sweet critters.

I have an affinity for Siamese myslef, we raised quite a of them for many years, we're finally down to the last few, now my wife has her eyes set on a Pug as the next house critter addition.

My brother simply adores his Siamese, Nicholas. Nicky is getting up in years and my brother is dreading the inevitable.

Thanks for the touching and sad story. I Lost my mom five months ago. One does not soon get over the loss. All the best to you.Thank you for your thoughts. My sincerest condolences for your loss. I lost my mother to cancer on Christmas Eve, 1985. I wish I could say something that could help sooth the pain you must feel, but there's nothing that would help. Just try to understand that as time passes, although the pain will never completely go away, the sharp pain you now feel will eventually change to a dull ache. And over time, you'll find that you forget the "bad times" and recriminations, until all you remember are the good things.
Sincerly,
Mark

A real cool set of pictures of Rush head butting Punkin on Thanksgiving Weekend. Conservative Cat Lovers rejoice! Guys are usually more amenable to dogs but there are exceptions such as the host and yours truly. While Rush has an Abyssinian, I have a Siamese.I'll never understand why there are so many people who dislike cats, or why so many consider dogs to be "masculine animals" and cats "feminine animals." I've long had a fondness for kitties. I have three at present, all boys. Nothing fancy (just plain old "alley cats," the best kind!), though one of them looks fancy (doesn't act that way, though).
I also don't know why so many people insist on labeling cats "aloof" and impersonal. Cats don't show their affection the same way dogs do, but they are just as affectionate, and they show it in adorable feline ways.

The best cat I ever had was an abyssinian, he was a demon for headbutts. He also loved brushing so much you could brush him with a running shop vac brush and he would just sit there loving it. He taught our dogs how to ask to go out and behave.I've often wished I could have an Abyssinian, but I could never afford one. I suppose it's because they look more like plain old alley cats than most of the purebreds.

Strech looks like a good ol' simple country boy (like my three).
I have a cat named Samson too (actually, it's Shimshon Ben Manoach, since I named him after the Biblical figure). He's thirteen years old; he'll be fourteen in three months.
Another of my cats will be seventeen in three months!

Those cats are adorable. The blue one looks like my eldest (soon to be seventeen years old). He looks like a purebred, but he's not, and he certainly doesn't act fancy. We just call him "Blue."
Is your blue a Russian, a Korat, or just a blue alley cat (like mine)?

I've often wished I could have an Abyssinian, but I could never afford one. I suppose it's because they look more like plain old alley cats than most of the purebreds. Sometimes purebreds get turned in to shelters or rescue groups. There also may be a rescue organization near you that specializes in purebreds in general, or maybe in Abyssinians. Also try www.petfinder.com. And lastly, sometimes breeders have retired adult cats available for less money than they charge for their kittens.

To: Zionist Conspirator
Breeders sometimes have "pet quality" or retired show cats that are inexpensive. Mine was a freebee, some guys roomate moved out and left him. He used to ride around on my shoulders.
