Her childbirth is sad? How so? Should she have aborted it instead?
Good heavens you are dense!!! OF COURSE NOT!!!
My point is a 16-year-old girl shouldn't be pregnant. I hope you would not want to have your daughters at that age pregnant.
Don't be a jerk!
bump with no comment.
Who are you to hope anything for daughters that I may or may not have? But your judgement shows that she'd clearly have been better off in some people's eyes by aborting the child.
It's about appearances, after all.
Thank goodness she's rich. Otherwise, this thread would be hijacked with talk about being on welfare.
Don't be a jerk!
I'll follow up a bit by pointing out that Mary was quite probably somewhere between 14 and 17 when she found herself to be pregnant with you-know-who.
I don't know the situation that this young lady lives in, and neither do you. Perhaps it is a massive trauma, and perhaps it is not. Maybe her "betrothed" is an honorable man, and maybe he is not. None of those facts are in evidence here.
There are some for whom this fact set would be a horrible thing with a considerable moral problem and there are some jurisdictions where it would be a considerable legal problem as well. I for one, don't know any of that.
The only thing I know for sure about this story is that a young woman is having a baby, and I simply refuse to be sad or angry about that, without any other intervening facts.
So there. Neener. Neener. Neener. :-)

Yes, the real Mary never would have been pregnant at 16 - she would have waited until after college. ;)
My best friend's parents married when her mom was sixteen. They eloped. They're still married after 54 years. I'm sure she was preggers soon thereafter.
