That is kind of how I read the snippets in the OP. I find it funny that people on here will bash the media for being liars and taking things out of context, right up until those things give them a chance to bash someone. This headline sells, him saying he isn't against male nudity is unwieldy and won't get as much attention.

It seems that Mr. Craig does have a problem with his statements and the press.

As you can see from this article quoting him entitled:

I don't like guns, says the new James Bond

It quotes him as saying, "I hate handguns. Handguns are used to shoot people and as long as they are around people will shoot each other. That's a simple fact. I've seen a bullet wound and it was a mess. Bullets have a nasty habit of finding their target and that's what's scary about them."

I have not been able to find a complaint about being misquoted, nor have I been able to find a retraction, or even a 'they've got it wrong' statement from Mr. Craig. If he has a problem with being misrepresented, he should at least say so.

If I have over looked his retraction, please direct me to where I might find it. Otherwise it seems both the article today and this one I've posted seem to be fair representations of this gentleman's own words.

My only problem with Daniel Craig as Bond was that he seemed to look a bit too Russian for my tastes. Otherwise, I was even willing to put aside the pansy gun statement for the sake of the James Bond franchise. This latest bit of fruit loop indicates that this version of Bond is most likely the loopiest one yet.

My husband and son were going to see this movie sometime this holiday season. I haven't told them about this odd bit yet. I did not want to spoil their enjoyment. But either Mr. Craig needs to stop making statements or this should be his last Bond movie ever.

Silly me.

I was a bit tired when I posted last night, just before going to bed.

I missed this part (I did see the headline):

"Daniel Craig is urging movie bosses to revolutionize the James Bond franchise by including a gay scene involving the superspy in the follow-up to Casino Royale."

This he did absolutely not say in the interview I watched.

If I remember correctly, he was interviewed by some female reporterette who was going gaga about his muscled physique and talking about that scene coming out of the water, about being a sex symbol and such.

She then asked, if he would be willing to do nudity. Craig laughed, and said what is quoted later in this story:

"Why not? I think in this day and age, fans would have accepted it."

"I mean, look at (British TV series) Doctor Who - that has had gay scenes in it and no one blinks an eye."

There no "urging" in any sense or manner about anything, nor any talk about a gay Bond.

One caveat though. It might have been a different interview where a similar theme was brought up. I doubt it though.

Cheers.
