Buford (a 15-lb brown tabby - no, he's not fat) was last seen this morning watching me leave for work.

I'm sure by now he's crashed out on my bed or on the couch, sleeping.

Kinda where I'd like to be right now.

My cat is curled up next to my computer and is not feeling well. She has CRF and hasn't eaten much since Sunday night. I'm worried about her. We are going to the vet for fluids this afternoon. I'm almost afraid to take her because the vet will want to have the "quality of life" discussion.

Sigh, I miss walks with my girls. Stupid neighbor who won't let us have them outdoors.... They always loved going to the mailbox with us...

I don't know what our cats do while we're at work but last night I came home and girl-cat had a piece of duct tape wrapped around her leg. Have no idea where she picked it up at and had to cut it out of her fur.

Traveller is probably eyeing the Ferrets and trying to figure out the best way to get rid of them without getting her belly bit again.

Peculiar? My one girl Polly loves to suck on ears and lick and bite noses. But only when you're in bed trying to sleep. The other one, Jellybean, has an obsession with hands. Again, mostly when you are trying to sleep. I think they see us as weak when we are sleeping.

mmhmm, again.. the last time she jumped on one of them she launched straight into the air with the male (Podo) firmly attached to her belly.

I damn near snorted my coffee through my nose when it happened. Podo is about half her size, but I'm sure it was like trying to fight a razor toothed greased slinky on speed.

Podo is my hunter, and he definately knows how to fight lol.

Our current cat, Fluff, has taken to picking up stuff from my husband's desk at night, hauling the things down a twenty foot hallway and then down a flight of stairs. Everything is deposited at the foot of the stairs as a surprise for us in the morning. Multiple times we have found a stapler, a big gum eraser, wristwatch, various pens and pencils. She has attempted the wireless mouse and a cell phone. We finally started closing the door to his office at night.

This is the same cat that runs to the telephone when it rings. She tries to pick it up in her jaws! We have found it dislodged from it's 'cradle' several times when we have returned home.

This past Monday she started hauling things UP the stairs--she took it upon herself to start to demolish the Thanksgiving centerpiece on the dining room table and drag it upstairs to me, one piece at a time!

There is cat slobber all over this house!

Fluids are very easy to give at home--have you tried it? It is just to keep crf kitties hydrated. Believe me, that is all most CRF kitties need for a very long time. I've been through it with and without anemia, but fluids are the main part and they can live very comfortably for a long time just keeping them properly hydrated. Don't let them tell you any different.

If they are anemic--do not let them talk you into epogen. It is meant for humans and cats reject it often and once that happens there are NO options. Best bet is to find a donor kitty that is compatible (vets can send off for this testing) It works much better and they don't need transfusions very often.

Powder..Patch..Ball FIRE!

Our cat King Perciville Maximus (Percy) for short is resting peacefully in the front yard.

Some POS with an air rifle shot him in the neck a couple of months ago and he died in agony 20 ft from the front door.

We haven't found another kitten yet to replace him. And if I ever catch the bas***d who did it, I owe him...

Sorry to hear about your loss. This thread sure has brought out the horror/grief stories.

I got my two brown tigers, Lily and Luvvy, as 3-mo-old littermates in a shelter in Manhattan. I could not have found a more loving, affectionate, calm, sweet pair. They are so pretty (tiger/leopard markings -- beautiful faces), so gentle, and so patient.

God really put them into my life, and I'm thankful for them. In times of emotional or physical pain, just touching them really calms me. Example: I threw my back out last week. My bed is a loft, so climbing out of it was a painful chore and took my 15 to 30 minutes. But when they stood at the head of the ladder, and I could touch them, my pain really subsided and I became much calmer.

Thanks! We've tried the SubQ's at home, but I live alone and she won't stay still long enough to get enough fluids into her. She's maintained by doing fluids at the vet for a long time, but the disease has progrssed to where her levels are so high it seems ker kidneys are shutting down. She is very anemic and hasn't eaten since Sunday. She's been living with this for a long time now so I think we are moving into the final stages. . .

I think I'm going to have to make the decision I've been dreading soon.

Please take you kitty to the vet. My cat began expelling clear mucis and it turned out she had a pretty nasty infection in her mouth. if not treated it can lead to much more serious things!

Thank you, but she's fine. She's been fine for days now. Apparently, the congestion cleared and she's been playing like a kitten lately, which she hasn't done in a long time.

Update: At this moment, Luvvy is emitting small whisper-like sighs in her sleep, every few seconds.
