**This is the only movie I intend to see this winter.**

Ditto!

**This movie was written in a Protestant perspective, making the characters that we as Catholics venerate as saints, very ordinary in nature.**

Hmmm. I wasn't aware of this.

I just e-mailed your post to our parish priest. He is a very traditional/orthodox priest who was invited to the free showing on Monday. I'll keep everyone informed of what he says.

Excellent! It will be interesting to hear what his take on it will be.

I do agree Jay, with the unrelenting tripe that usually comes out against Christianity on a daily basis, we do ourselves better to stand by the Truth, and defend it.

The film might serve a good purpose on what Truth is based on, and then let the telling of the full story go from there.

Hi!
Here is what my very traditional/orthodox priest said. He said to keep the concerns until after you see the movie. He would not discourage anyone from seeing it.

We can discuss the notes afterward but we must support wholesome movies.

I'm going to see it. I would like to take my kiddies. I'll make sure that I tell them all the Non-Catholic views when I buy the DVD and we can pause to discuss.

the soldiers who came to kill the Holy Innocents were Roman...
Well, Romans tend to be traditional bad guys in Bible pictures, and as villians go they rock! It's like the Nazis in a World War 2 picture, it just fits better.
