My son, a senior in high school, created a user name and password on Duke's admission site and had his test scores (ACT 34) sent to Duke.

A few days ago he received an e-mail from Duke damn near begging him to send in an application and not forsake them. No other school has done this.

He is not likely to apply because he feels he could "be arrested for doing nothing and end up in jail".

Duke also sent around a flier a few weeks ago touting the proud African-American heritage of Durham and had it signed by Mayor Bell and Duke President Broadhead. Again, nothing even close to this from any other school.
