Not sure about this judge's reasoning but I have my doubts about the Constitutionality of immunizing the members of any group from lawsuits -- it smacks of an 'order of nobility'. What should have been done was to make bringing frivolous lawsuits in federal courts a federal felony.

"I have my doubts about the Constitutionality of immunizing the members of any group from lawsuits "You ARE aware, I'm sure, that politicians and elected officials are IMMUNE from civil liability for the laws they pass, aren't you?????

Gut, I agree with a lot of your positions but not this one. Do Knife mfgs get sued when some one is stabbed? Do auto mfgs get sued when their products are intentionally misused?
The law does not 'immunize' the gun mfgs from lawsuits for faulty products of damages caused by faulty products only from being sued when their product is intentionally misused through no fault of the mfg.
That is only right as the 'anties' could bring and have brought all sorts of BS law suites with the sole purpose being to bankrupt the gun mfgs.

the law did not immunize mfr's and dealers from lawsuits. it only prevents lawsuits regarding how someone used their legally purchased product. if a mfr makes a faulty product, they can still be sued. if a mfr or dealer sells the product illegally, they can be sued.
