Wii Bit of Worry

You have got to be kidding! This dweeb is worried that the 'quality' of games will go down. Gee, that's right up there with Iran and N. Korea on my list. /s

What a dope. For years and years, it's always been "It's not about the graphics, it's the gameplay!" Now that a system is actually focusing on just that mantra, the nerd patrol is screaming the opposite? How could gaming suffer as a result of a larger audience? It'll allow for more niche titles. The days of spending over 100 hours on a game may be done, and, while that will upset some of the hard-core gamers, it'll be great for the pick-up-and-go casual gamers, of which there are many more.

Most games are identical clones. 3D open air dungeon crawls. Great graphics. Hack and slash/Kill and grill gameplay.

Just because it looks good, doesn't mean I want to look at it for 2 weeks, just because it looks good. Zelda II was a great game. Zelda III was a great game also. Zelda IV was a blast to play. You could go fishing. The graphics on all three of these games was less than stellar, but fun to play. The Donkey Kong Countries were fun also. Same story, good game play, less reliance on picture perfect cnn style blood and gore graphics.

It seems that the ability to render almost lifelike pictures, has become a crutch for rendering good games.

This seems to be a common theme for Sony robots. Attempting to deflect the fact that the PS3 has a poor collection of titles and is a buggy system. They whine and complain and submit false reviews that the Wii sucks simply because it doesn't have HDTV support.

I think I've heard the TV tech guy pronounce it 'wee'.

The Virtual Console is one of the best things to come to a game console...plus you can just go buy a Wii Points Card and then go online on your Wii and use your Wii Points to download NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, and TG16 games.

What I would like to see is a Wii classic controller with a 12-button keypad and then have Intellivision and Atari Jaguar games available for the Virtual Console. I would love to be able to play the Jaguar version of "Alien vs Predator", "Doom", and "Tempest 2000" without having to drag out my Atari Jaguar (I bought a Jaguar brand new when it rolled out nationwide in 1994).
