In this world of pain, confusion and question, today we give pause. We dont today focus on the half empty cup but rather CHOSE to look at the joy of life, the blessings of life and the friendships of life.
Today we give thanks to God for his gift of life & blessings in this troubled world.
We give thanks to friends and family for the gifts of friendship and joy they share with us
Today is day ONE of the LONG 4-day Thanksgiving Weekend here at the Singles Thread.
We are thankful that Jim & John Robinson have given us a cozy cyber room in the forum for us to chat.
Our singles family is diverse & NOT without internal problems. But we are doing our best to be here for our friends of all ages & all walks of life. If you are single or a friend of any of us, you are most welcome to drop in & chat & share. The doors will be open all weekend to visit.
May our God keep all in His protective love.
Whether with a group or alone, whether at home or traveling , whether content or troubled, may TODAY be a day of peace & of reflection of the blessings we do have.
Feel free to share your greetings, graphics, joys, pains. This is a thread of openness & friendship & sharing.
I am grateful for many things this day..my God, my family, my friends, but profoundly grateful I was born in America. I am thankful to my president for his leadership and the fine example in marriage he provides. I am thankful for the troops who are serving and far from the homes & families that today have an empty seat. I love my country
Dolly.

"Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds."1901 Theodore Roosevelt
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." John Fitzgerald Kennedy
"It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor." George Washington October 3, 1789 in his first Presidential Proclamation.

I'm getting ready to go back to DC tomorrow. It was nice to be home. But it's also very nice to make that time limited. I'm gonna be back in two weeks anyway.

I always forget how early my school ends for Christmas. And we start later than most schools too. Not really sure how that works but I don't mind...

Lol yeah I saw that. I had the same picture up from the time I first signed up October 2005 until this past summer when I put up a picture of my leg in the splint.

One of the edits I did makes my face look so gory (in reality it was a polar distort)...
To: rzeznikj at stout
I don't really know what a polar distort is.

In Photoshop, what I did is "cut" out my face, copied the selection over to a new image and ran the distort.
What it does is it selects a point in the center and then shapes the rest the image around that point--everything then looks like it revolves around that point.
Kind of like when you see observatory pictures of the stars rotating through the sky--that would be another example of a polar distort...

Oh, okay. Sounds cool. Photoshop is a mystery to me. I can crop photos and take out red eye. That's about it.
