Those dogs are bred for one thing. To kill.

I've read plenty of articles about the American Pit Bull Terrier to know that it can be a loving, dependable companion if bred and raised correctly. But it appears the majority of the specimens are ill-bred, unpredictable, and dangerous. I can understand why so many communities consider banning them.

Everytime I see one of those dogs I look for the nearest brick or club to beat them with if they attack me.

All of these stories have at least one Post where someone says they can be such loving adorable pets.

Is it worth having 40 bad pitbulls out there to get one loving pet?

Its a breed that should be registered with the police the same as pedophiles and child molesters as far as I am concerned.

I think you need to be very careful before considering breed bans. How do you define a pit bull? Do you think these dogs are registered with the AKC? How would you know?

No, really breed bans are based upon how a dog looks. If your local authorities think your dog is too big or too scary looking, then they would ban your dog. I don't think that is right.

I know someone who has several that he raised to be loving, docile pets. 3 of them were sweet and loving, but one of them is just a "bad seed." No matter how kindly she was treated, well fed, etc., she was just very aggressive and had to be kept separate from the others. She has gotten free and attacked the other dogs more than once and bit her owner when he pulled her off one of the other dogs. I don't know if he still has her or had her euthanized.
I would have had her put down.
His other PBs were actually very sweet.
That said, I would NEVER have one. I'm a lab lover myself.
