Knoxville -- The Southeastern Conference reprimanded Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer on Wednesday for saying after a victory over Vanderbilt that the league needs to take a "hard look" at officiating.
Commissioner Mike Slive said Fulmer violated the league's code of ethics that prohibits coaches, players and support personnel from publicly criticizing officials.
"I have reminded Coach Fulmer of his responsibility to comply with the policies of the SEC and this rule. Any further violation of conference policies of this nature may result in additional penalties,"

As a Pac-10 fan... I'll take SEC referees any day over the clowns they have officiating at Pac-10 games.
The Oregon-Oklahoma travesty comes to mind...
As does the USC-Oregon game, where the replay officials overturned a call... and then the Oregon coach challenged the call of the replay official, and had the play overturned back to the original call. The replay review and the replay review review stopped the game for MORE THAN 20 MINUTES!!
The ACC took some really aggressive steps to correct the bad crew of ACC officials after a fiasco four years ago. The SEC and the PAC-10 need to make some of the same changes.
Agreed, SEC and Pac 10 have some big officiating problems that won't be cured by reprimanding coaches.
