I just happen to believe that the powers that made it happen did so from DC, not from a perspective of North vs South. Slavery is an utter abomination. This was just not the way to go about ending it. Lincoln was out of touch with the people.
That's rubbish. The secessions began before Lincoln was sworn in, and the Confederate VP's speech about the CSA constitution spells out that slavery was only vaguely protected under the US Constitution, and that had been rectified -- not to mention that the CSA attacked federal installations and started the War. The sovereignty issue had to do with holding other human beings -- those with black skins -- as property.

AS IF! There were four slave states in da "Union" and the Confederate States were on the defensive, albeit ready to kick so ass. The first shots were ordered fired by Lincoln at Ft Sumpter...sorry numskull, dat's a fact! The Confederacy responded by TROUNCING the first Northern army they encountered and nearly ending everything were it not for Jefferson Davis muzzling Stonewall. Look friends. I don't know how it would've turned out. How we would've turned out had things happened otherwise. Again, I'll bark up the same tree. Lincoln was out of touch. This poster may blame it on things prior to Lincoln, but not so. I haven't even begun to whip out the details. So please, bring it if you want it. ;-)
