Lincoln used slavery the same way Saddam Hussein, Iran, and Osama Bin Laden used the Palestinians as an issue.

Lincoln's primary concern was keeping the union together. Slavery did not become an issue until 1863.

in point of FACT, lincoln both FEARED & HATED "persons of colour" & "members of religious minorities", including but not limited to: Amerindians,Asians,Blacks, Catholics,Jews,Latinos,Mennonites,Mormons, Quakers and what he called "muddy-coloured people" (MIXED-bloods like ME, for example.).

face it, lincoln was as vicious a racist as existed in his time.

further, after the war he planned to DEPORT all the Blacks to Africa & "drive from our dominions or EXTERMINATE to the last one" all of the Americans Indians in the country! (nice guy, huh??)
