Southerners wrote PLENTY of history about the War. They are widely represented in the writings of just about every surviving general and plenty of the politicians.

Plus the Southern view was widely spread as romantic for the first 30 or 40 years of the popular media. There was NOTHING like GWTW or Birth of a Nation promoting the Union view.
