Bush doesn't think America should be an actual place [Tancredo and WND stuff words into Bush's mouth

Tancredo says president believes nation should be merely 'idea' without borders

PALM BEACH, Fla. – President Bush believes America should be more of an idea than an actual place, a Republican congressman told WND in an exclusive interview.

"People have to understand what we're talking about here. The president of the United States is an internationalist," said Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo. "He is going to do what he can to create a place where the idea of America is just that – it's an idea. It's not an actual place defined by borders. I mean this is where this guy is really going."

Tancredo lashed out at the White House's lack of action in securing U.S. borders, and said efforts to merge the U.S. with both Mexico and Canada is not a fantasy.

[...]

He pointed to Florida's largest city as an example of how the nature of America can be changed by uncontrolled immigration.

"Look at what has happened to Miami. It has become a Third World country," he said. "You just pick it up and take it and move it someplace. You would never know you're in the United States of America. You would certainly say you're in a Third World country."

He said quickly changing demographics can cause big problems, and specifically cited the "Islamization of Europe" in recent years which has led to conflict across the continent.

What's so special about it that we must keep it 'pure' as he sees it?

Exactly. My position is unpopular here but I came to it after listening to Mark Steyn describe the population rate in Europe and how it will lead to a Muslim majority in a few decades. Made me think about OUR population rates here.

White-non-Hispanic-1.9- SHARP DECREASE African American-2.3- SAME White-Hispanic-3.4-INCREASE

Whether anyone here wants to face it or not the majority of people in this country very soon will be either Latino or African American. CAUCASIANS AREN"T BREEDING and will soon go the way of the panda or some other endangered species. Bringing in the Mexican labor force ensures the US's population growth and also ensures a Christian majority as Latinos are still very faith-based people. Add to that their strong work ethic and this government would be stupid to send them away. Our country is depending on them in a future with billions of Chinese and Indians to keep up our population and contribute to this country's economy well after we are all long gone.

From all the squalling I'm reading here, I'd say old TT must be pretty close to the mark.

You still refuse to answer the question: If America is a place, and not an idea, what is being 'protected' by anti-immigration stances?

You can filibuster all you want, you can call me Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Malcolm X, whatever the hell you want to call me, it won't make you any less of a moron for refusing to answer a simple, direct question.

Oh, a Mexican is someone who's born in Mexico. It isn't a race. Even if you were right, you'd still be wrong.

Wish he'd just fade away.

Well, Tom just won his reelection bid, and strongly I might add. So, he isn't going anywhere much to your shagrin.

He's a pest who accomplishes nothing but his own self-gratification.

Funny, that's what all the pro ILLEGAL Invader bots say. Hardly an original thought. Blackbird.

Don't you see: If America is more a place then an idea, what difference does it make if they become merged or not? His entire arguement is based on the premise that America is somehow being 'perverted' by too much immigration, yet, if America is only a place, and not an idea, what exactly does it pervert?

It's immigration illegal or legal that comes from culture that is the problem. You can't claim diversity or call it a melting pot when 85% of the immgrants come from one culture. It is merely replacing one culture with another.

So? What does that have to do with the fact that we completely restrict Europeans who are faith based to come here legally but some are willing to allow millions of criminals to invade our country and stay here just becaue the "are faith based"?

Why does it have to be latinos? Why can't we allow Poles, Irish, Italians, etc. to come here too?

NO. But why does it have to be hispanics. Why can't we let others from around the world come, too?

Since we have an estimated 11 million illegals here now, most of whom (I'll say 8 million) are from Mexico/Central America/South America (M/CA/SA) and we assume the rest are from other parts of the world, we need to balance that out? Right? That leaves a differential of 8 million.

So. First, we secure our southern border and northern border. Then, taking up to 3 million legal immigrants, who meet our qualifications, per year from these other ethnic regions around the world. (Note: we are not taking 3 million each, but a total of three million each year till they reach that 8 million goal per ethinc region):

1. The European Union/Great Britain

2. Eastern Europe

3. Russia/The Balkan States

4. China

5. Western Asia

6. Southern Asia

7. The Middle East

8. The African Tribal Nations

9. South Africa

10. New Zealand/Australia/South Pacific

11. The Eskimo/Aleut/Northern Peoples

12. The Carribean

That's the best I can come up with. Any more?

In the meantime (you knew there was one of those, didn't you?) we put a moratorium on immigration from the M/CA/SA region until that quota of 8 million from each of those other regions is met bringing in a limit of 3 million per year regardless of the makeup.

That means we have to bring in 96 million from those other 12 regions. Dividing that by 3 million means that the moratorium on the M/CA/SA region would last 32 years.

I could go for that.

Could you?

Based on Tancredo's logic, Ronald Reagan didn't think America should be an actual place, either. The North American accord was introduced by Reagan as part of his presidential campaign kickoff.

Reagan also hoped for borders to disappear so that people could cross freely...... But you won't hear that part of Reagan mentioned.

Who has introduced the bill to do so?

The whole process is bypassing Congress. Ron Paul and others have introduced bills to prevent the NAU from going forward. Of course, this is just a farout, kook conspiracy??

We have had millions of European immigrants to the US. Poles, Italians, Brits etc. They all bred together and made more European people. The Mexicans are coming over and will breed with Europeans and create even more white people. Capiche?

DUH. This is actually a grand racist conspiracy by George W Bush (The evil one) to ensure than the US isn't primarily African American in 50 years.

Get with the program people.

"In exchange for legal status for the group, Reagan insisted that the magnet attracting illegal aliens to the United States be removed by extinguishing any incentive for U.S. employers to hire illegal aliens. In tandem with the amnesty, Reagan campaigned for employer sanctions for hiring illegal aliens, sanctions so stringent that many at the time regarded them as draconian."

"Reagan reasoned that if an employer were fined for hiring an illegal alien (as much as $1 million in the worst cases), any payroll savings achieved by the hiring would be wiped out by the fine. In effect, it would be more expensive to hire illegal aliens than to hire Americans or lawful permanent residents. The few illegal aliens who continued to take the gamble and cross the border would be intercepted by a robust and more generously funded Border Patrol."

"Today, there are between 8 million and 11 million illegal aliens in the United States. The majority of them crossed our southern border and has found employment — illegal employment, but employment nonetheless. This is attributed to Sen. TED KENNEDY'S eventual gutting of the enforcement mechanism for Reagan's employer sanctions, and successive administrations refusing to give our Border Patrol the resources it needs to achieve its mission."

"It’s been said that toward the end of his life, President Reagan’s illness prevented him from recognizing even familiar and beloved things. Had he been in perfect health, he might have had difficulty recognizing today’s Republican party on the issue of immigration."

Where is the evidence of this? I see hispanics grouping with hispanics only.

Where is the diversity in allowing 80 - 85% of all immigrants, legal or illegal, from one culture? It's absurd to think that they will not try to stick together. Look at Los Angeles for God's sake.
