Close, but not exactly.

How close do you have to be for "exactly"?

I am suspecting a little BS myself. Everyone is talking about her 'painting' these but did she 'draw' the image or did she 'project' it and then paint it in. I suspect the images have been projected. Even if she did project them from photographs the painting is good, whoever did it.

My purpose in posting was to show a better rendition of the whole painting with title for explanation, but I see your point. No doubt, it bears a striking resemblance to the popular singer/entertainer.

It isn't surprising that the face of Britney Spears could serve as artistic inspiration for the face of an angel to an innocent young girl, who herself is blond and blue-eyed (see below). In fact, there are millions of middle-aged guys who would agree. :-) The character behind the face is a whole different story and in the eye of the beholder. Akiane sees the face of an angel; one of pure beauty.

Would these paintings be considered so remarkable if they had been done by an adult?

Are there old paintings by the mother or father that closely resemble the girl's work?

Color me skeptical.

did she 'draw' the image or did she 'project' it and then paint it in.

It's a common technique to first sketch the outline of the picture and then project it on to a canvas.

The portrait of Britney Spears is well within the ability of a talented 11-year-old who has had extensive training.

As I said above, I personally do not care for that style of sentimental hyper realism but I don't think it is a hoax. She can give Kincaid a run for his money!

I am not talking about projecting your own sketches, I am talking about projecting a photograph onto your canvas instead of drawing it. A lot of artist do it but in my opinion it is cheating, like paint by number. Most of these paintings were projected they are just too photographic. Look at the painting of the two black children, now look at the background and foreground. They don't look like they were painted by the same hand.

Good grief. If Mozart was composing as a tiny child, I think this girl can paint.

Just because it's the most realistic painting, does not mean that the other paintings are inferior.

Even painting by projection is not easy. You have to know what you are doing and you have to understand how to render the image in oil paint.

My dad uses scaling to transfer pictures to canvas. He uses pictures he clips from the sports section but it's similar to painting from a still life. He has to mix the colors, adjust the shading and perspective.

I am an artist, I know how difficult painting is and I doubt the girl painted these without lots and lots of help including a projector.

But Mozart held concerts...this chick doesn't allow us to view HOW she does this.

I am still waiting for even ONE video of her painitng from beginning to end...there are none, only one video where the painting is almost finished and she is dabbing at it.

NOT ONE VIDEO OF HER DOING A PAINTING FROM BEGINNING TO END.

These parents have a great scam going and as P. T Barnum said, "there's a Purpose Driven Saint born every minute!"

That painting by 15 year old Picasso is much better than anything painted by the girl. I am not crazy about Picasso's later work but this painting of the boy is excellent.
