Idiots stampeding for playstation 3
Who wants to bet me they file lawsuits against wallmart....
Actually I believe that Sony is losing hundreds of dollars on each PS3 sold. They don't cost $12 to make.
>>>What keeps us in PS's camp is the fact that all of our 1st and 2nd generation games can continue to be played on each consecutive system.>>>
That is absolutely brilliant on their part. We have accumalated alot of PS1 & PS2 games over the years and if I have to start over, might just wander over to the Xbox or Game Cube. Not that I would, but that is the mindset behind it. So they did good with allowing people to continue to play the older games.
(and while I'm being the the Nintendo fanboy)
"There are only 400K in the whole country."
In contrast to the million or so Nintendo Wiis that will be available @ launch.
Ah, materialism...
Massachusetts lemmings

Edgar Alcala, 18, who grabbed one of the first spots in line at San Francisco's Sony Metreon Mall on Wednesday morning, said he was looking forward to a warm, dry bed and a hefty profit.
"When I get home, I'm going to take a quick picture of it, slap it on eBay and go to sleep," Alcala said minutes before the store's doors opened at midnight Friday.
Exclusivity.
Why does Ferrari crank out only 300 units of their newest models? Would you buy a $30,000 Ferrari? A $50 Rolex?
Exclusive products generate their own Marketing, which is worth MILLIONS to the manufacturer.
And there is that little thing about rotten parents needing to "prove their love" with a PS3 under the tree this Christmas. If your kid gets one, and his best friend does not, then from a kids perspective, you are a better parent, while the other kids' parents suck.
Not good, but REAL.
Got to hand it to EBay. They're jacking up their profits even more by restricing the number of allowable sellers, and limiting them to one per seller.
Dude, it's a game for geeks that can't adjust in the real world. It's for 30-something boys that can't see fit to grow up and move out of their mom's house. Get off the couch, go walk the dog. There's a big sunny world out there, get out and enjoy it.
It's video games for crying out loud, you can paint that "L" on your forehead now.
Kiss a girl!
That's funny!
The only advantage is the Blu-Ray High Def DVD laser. Have you seen the difference between High Definition and reggegular telebison? Now imagine it on a dvd. The Blu ray dvds also hold 50GB, that's 10X the space/data of a standard dvd disc.
>>>"What keeps us in PS's camp is the fact that all of our 1st and 2nd generation games can continue to be played on each consecutive system."
Not anymore. I guess you didn't hear that Sony decided to no longer support all of the older games in order to get the PS3 out in time for Christmas.>>>
Then never mind my previous post. I guess I may be looking at an Xbox then.
>>>So why, exactly, is it in their interest to only sell 400,000 of these units? Wouldn't it make more sense to crank out 2 million units instead? Given that they're probably made in China for $12 anyway, why not go with a more robust production capability? What benefit is derived from hype when the customer can't buy your product?>>>
Everybody, newsarticles and bloggers like us talking about it. You can't pay for that kind of advertisement. I know they repeated the lines on the Morning News here in Atlanta at least every 10 minutes. For FREE!
Just heard on the radio news that a man in Massachusetts was shot over this stupid game
A $600 PS3 costs about $1000 for Sony
Please, little steps... We're trying to encourage the boy, not scare him away.
There are 7353 listed on ebay, one just sold for $15,000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!
