Did anyone else who read the linked article find the following paragraph strange? I mean what does it have to do with anything iun the article? And what is Sean Carroll trying to say (or rather what is the reporter trying to say)? I have no idea. Seems like a spurious gripe.
Sean Carroll, a cosmologist at the California Institute of Technology who was not part of the team, said: “Had they found the evolution was not constant, that would have been an incredibly earth-shaking discovery. They looked where no one had been able to look before.”
