Like to toss out something for discussion re the Rutgers/BCS poll...OK, in everything I've read this week, there appears to be a fairly uniform consensus on the following points:

1. Rutgers is being penalized to some extent for what is viewed as a weak Strength of Schedule.
2. The Big East doesn't have the Power rankings of the SEC, Big Ten, or Pac10.
3. The computer polls favor Rutgers, whereas the human voting polls, which account for 2/3 of the BCS formula, don't.

Yet, 3 of the top 10 in the BCS are Big East schools. Empirically, this makes NO sense, indeed it is near impossible if you accept the premises of 1-3 above.

So, what gives?

There is a misconception that the term "computer poll" implies no human involvement. This ignores the fact one group of humans create a set of data that the computer is instructed by humans to calculate in a specific manner. The result is a given output.

The "human polls" are a different set of data created by another group of humans prompting a different output.
