I don't think I've ever seen a case more full of holes, more lacking in evidence, and more lacking in credibility than this one.
Either Nifong has got "the smoking gun" waiting in the bullpen, or...?
I can't imagine any other prosecutor pursuing this case, based on what is now known (at least what is now known publicly).

A prosecutor can't legally withhold evidence from the defense. He is required by law to provide all evidence to their side well before a trial starts to give them time to prepare their defense.
However, this prosecutor seems to have such a lack of respect for prosecutorial ethics, so far, that I wouldn't be surprised if he did exactly that. This case reads like something out of a cheap novel.
