I think I saw something about that on PBS. It's definitely a Northern song :-).

"It's definitely a Northern song."

Here's anothern Yankee song for ya.

"Baby this town rips the bones from your back,
It's a death trap
Its a suicide rap,
We gotta get out while we're young
Cause tramps like us
Baby we were born to run."

Or this one -

" One soft infested summer me and Janie became friends
Tryin in vain to breathe the fire we was born in.
Catching rides to the outskirts tyin fate between our teeth,
Sleepin in that old abandoned beach house
Getting wasted in the heat.
And we went hiding on the back streets,
Hiding on the back streets
With a love so hard and filled with defeat.
Running for our lives at night on them back streets."
- Bruce Springsteen

I believe they are both songs about New Jersey as that is where he hails from.
