To: Knitting A Conundrum

and another hymn to hold close tonight:

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

Refrain

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

Refrain

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.

Refrain

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Refrain

Edward Mote

O Lord of my life in the night and the day,
My shelter, my home when all else seems to stray,
Your words are my compass, your love is my guide,
O keep me, dear Master, there safe by your side.

In this world of darkness where promises fail,
There is no sure shore, no firm-footed trail
That leads one to peace or into the light
Except through your love which shines there so bright.

O help me to walk in the way where you lead,
My Shepherd, my Guide who provides all I need,
O Comfort of lost ones, o Bright Morning Star,
My peace is with you, my hope where you are.

I read Romans 1-5 this morning, feeling very much led to do so. I saw anew how the conviction of sin leads to repentance of it, and turning away from sin unto God in Christ brings the love and faith and hope for which we ever longed but had no name for in our unbelief.
