In thee, O LORD, do I seek refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in thy righteousness deliver me!

Incline thy ear to me,
rescue me speedily!
Be thou a rock of refuge for me,
a strong fortress to save me!

Yea, thou art my rock and my fortress;
for thy name's sake lead me and guide me,
take me out of the net which is hidden for me,
for thou art my refuge.
Into thy hand I commit my spirit;
thou hast redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God.

Psalm 31:1-5

We are in your hands, O Lord, in a time where the world seems bent on destruction, and anger overwhelms all.

Teach us to be your light, reach out with your hands, choose with your mind each and every day, and know that you are always there, our true shelter.

Even though we cannot see the reasons why this happens, teach us to be the light and salt you asked us to be, even when it is difficult.

We especially ask your guidance for our leaders, our military, for those who must make the hard decisions how to keep us safe.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.
