Daily Light on the Daily Path
Evening
The Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.For this is the will of God, your sanctification.
For God has . . . called us . . . in holiness . . . who gives his Holy Spirit to you.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit.

From: The Holy Are Humble by A.W. Tozer
I have met two classes of Christians; the proud who imagine they are humble, and the humble who are afraid they are proud! There should be another class: the self-forgetful men and women who leave the whole thing in the hands of Christ and refuse to waste any time trying to make themselves good. They will reach the goal far ahead of the rest. The truly humble person does not expect to find virtue in himself, and when he finds none he is not disappointed. He knows that any good deed he may do is the result of God’s working within him.
—A.W. Tozer (1897-1963) - Known as the 20th century prophet his writings and preaching have stirred and brought many to a deeper walk with God.
Father in Heaven, search our hearts today and prepare us for the LORD’s day when we will present ourselves with the saints to worship you and hear your Word.
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 25:8 Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
Psalm 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

To my humble supplication,
Lord, give ear and acceptation;
Save Thy servant, that hath none
Help nor hope but Thee alone.
Send, O send, relieving gladness
To my soul oppressed with sadness,
Which, from clog of earth set free,
Winged with zeal, flies up to Thee.
To Thee, rich in mercies treasure,
And in goodness without measure,
Never failing help to those
Who on Thy sure help repose.
Heavenly Tutor, of Thy kindness,
Teach my dullness, guide my blindness,
That my steps Thy paths may tread,
Which to endless bliss do lead.
