The Prayer Room: Praying for America, FR, and all who need it
Various | 11/8/06 | Knitting a Conundrum

Posted on 11/09/2006 6:49:58 PM PST by Knitting A Conundrum

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Psalm 127:1
>

At this time, when feelings run high, the world seems crazy, and anger seems to be the one thing the peoples of the world have in common, I invite you, my fellow FReepers, to join me in prayers and meditation for guidance, God's help and for our fellow man, for America, our troops,  and all our own needs.

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

William Bradbury

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

Psalm 46: 1-3

Amen to all! Having a great day here, after all the gnashing of teeth - and pray that our FReeper family worldwide is doing the same.

Just taking a kitchen break ("just", ha! So glad to be here and being productive - and seeing all these bright, shining faces!) - will check back in after pumpkins and dressing are on their way to completion ...

HAPPY HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!

Lord, bless these bountiful tables, especially those with empty chairs where hearts are aching. TIA

Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Dear Lord,

On this day we set aside to thank you,
Accept our offering of gratitude,
no matter how impure,
for you are the ultimate source
of all our joy,
our contentment,
our prosperity,
our hope.

Without you, we are but dust.

Thank you for those moments we have to love you
and to share your love with those around us,
to share our goods to those who need,
to share our concern and our sorrow,

Thank you most especially for choosing to join us,
suffer with and for us,
to die for us.

Help us to come to love you more and more,
and reflect your beauty on this sad, peaceless world
more and more each day.

Amen.

OK y'all....I just got a call from Nana. Logan was admitted to the hospital this afternoon with double pneumonia and RSV. He's in the pediatric ICU...and his condition is listed as critical.

He's been sick this week with a cold that got worse and worse. Today after his nap, they rushed him in. That's ALL I have. PLEASE pray for this boy and his family.

If ANYONE has a ping list that's not on here, PLEASE use it.

Dear Lord God PLEASE heal this child. Oh dear God PLEASE.

I'm not certain - there is an ongoing thread for baby Logan with over 12,000 posts on it. I believe he is the grandbaby of a FReeper's best friend, but I'm not certain whose.

The people on FR who usually talk about Logan are Brad's Gramma, Texas Termite and Nana, but I'm not sure how any of them are related. Sorry I couldn't be of more help - I haven't been around long as a member and when I lurked, I only read mostly news posts.

Brad's Gramma has a friend who is referred to as Nana. Nana's grandson is Logan, who she and a whole lot of FReepers have been praying for since August 2003. If you hear people refer to Logan's Warriors, it's that pinglist...

Logan has had a wide set of health problems, like a lot of preemies, and they are worried that he has CF. They are scheduled to test him next week, but his being sick might postpone that.

morning prayer ping!

O Lord,
another day!
A day when the world groans out its sufferings,
as it has grown since the fall.
A day when man chooses to harm each other
in the name of "I want"
in the name of "You are unworthy,"
in the name of God.

A day when through your mercy,
I can come before your throne
even though the darkness swirls around me,
there to offer up my contrite heart,
begging for mercy,
finding peace.

A day when I can be your servant,
and carry your light into that darkness,
A day when I offer you
my hands,
my mind,
my feet,
my heart,
and in any way you chose,
become the instrument of your peace
against the darkness that threatens all.

I give you thanks, Lord,
for each day you give me
for each chance to be your tool,
your instrument of peace,
for each good to share,
each pain and frustration to offer up,
each moment you give me to grow.

I will lift my head up,
and look to he who gives me my salvation,
and know that Jesus is Lord,
this day and always,
Amen.

Oh, bless his baby heart. What a little fighter he must be. Thanks for the clarification. Prayers continuing for the little guy to put this hurdle behind him, too.
