Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
.............
Eph 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Eph 5:7 Therefore do not become partners with them;
Eph 5:8 for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light
Eph 5:9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true),
Eph 5:10 and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.
Eph 5:11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
Eph 5:12 For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret.
Eph 5:13 But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible,
Eph 5:14 for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."
Eph 5:15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,
Eph 5:16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
Eph 5:17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Jesus, my Strength, my Hope,
On Thee I cast my care,
With humble confidence look up,
And know Thou hear’st my prayer.
Give me on Thee to wait
Till I can all things do;
On Thee, almighty to create,
Almighty to renew.

I want a sober mind,
A self-renouncing will,
That tramples down and casts behind
The baits of pleasing ill;
A soul inured to pain,
To hardship, grief, and loss,
Bold to take up, firm to sustain
The consecrated cross.

I want a godly fear,
A quick discerning eye
That looks to Thee when sin is near
And sees the tempter fly;
A spirit still prepared
And armed with jealous care,
Forever standing on its guard
And watching unto prayer.

I want a heart to pray,
To pray and never cease,
Never to murmur at Thy stay,
Or wish my sufferings less.
This blessing, above all,
Always to pray, I want,
Out of the deep on Thee to call,
And never, never faint.

I want a true regard,
A single, steady aim,
Unmoved by threat’ning or reward
To Thee and Thy great Name.
A jealous, just concern
For Thine immortal praise;
A pure desire that all may learn
And glorify Thy grace.

I rest upon Thy Word;
The promise is for me;
My comfort and salvation, Lord,
Shall surely come from Thee.
But let me still abide,
Nor from my hope remove,
Till Thou my patient spirit guide
Into Thy perfect love.

I want with all my heart
Thy pleasure to fulfill,
To know myself, and what Thou art,
And what Thy perfect will.
I want I know not what,
I want my wants to see,
I want—alas! what want I not,
When Thou art not in me?

That Hymn is Beautiful, Dear Servant of Christ! Thank you for the Blessing.

'I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King!
And I'll bless your name into eternity.
I'll bless you every day,
And keep it up from now to eternity.
God is magnificent;
He can never be praised enough.
There are no boundaries to his greatness.
Generation after generation
Stands in awe of your work;
Each one tells stories of your mighty acts.
Your beauty and splendor
Have everyone talking;
I compose songs on your wonders.
Your marvelous doings are headline news;
I could write a book full
Of the details of your greatness.
The fame of your goodness
Spreads across the country;
Your righteousness is on everyone's lips.
God is all mercy and grace—
Not quick to anger, is rich in love.
God is good to one and all;
Everything he does
Is suffused with grace.
Creation and creatures applaud you, God;
Your holy people bless you.
They talk about the glories of your rule,
They exclaim over your splendor,
Letting the world know
Of your power for good,
The lavish splendor of your kingdom.
Your kingdom is a kingdom eternal;
You never get voted out of office.' (Ps.145:1-13)

We Worship You, O Father our King, So Thankful for Your Lavish Grace. Your Love is our Strength, our God Most Dear, and we Stand in the Power of Your Name. Fill us to Overflowing with Christ, and Help us to Live to Your Praise. Faithful and True, Merciful and Mighty, we Adore You, Majestic Lord-King.

Be Loved Forever, Papa-Father, as we Pray in the Name of Thy Son, amen.

Most Holy Lord and Father,
It gives me great joy to think of your Faithfulness and your goodness. There is nothing that gives more delight and rest to my soul than to remember your love for me.
Your Word is clean and pure, like a pure breath in my mouth as I read your Word.
You have given us your Holy Spirit of Truth freely.
You have given us your most Precious Son, our Saviour and Redeemer; our precious Beloved.
How good you are to mankind.
Let your praise ring from wind to wind across the earth. Let your praise rise up from hearts cleansed by the Great Salvation that you have given.
I praise you LORD.
In the Name of Jesus I can stand before you and Bless your Name, in the Beauty of Holiness.

Psa 65:1 To the chief musician. A Psalm and Song of David. To You silence is praise, O God, in Zion; and to You is a vow paid.
Psa 65:2 To You who hears prayer, all flesh comes.
Psa 65:3 Things of iniquity, our transgressions, are mightier than I; You atone for them.
Psa 65:4 Blessed is the one You choose and cause to come near You; he shall dwell in Your courts; we shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your holy temple.
Psa 65:5 You will answer us in righteousness by awesome things, O God of our salvation; the Confidence of all the ends of the earth and the sea, of those afar off.
Psa 65:6 By Your strength the mountains are established, banded together with might.
Psa 65:7 You still the roaring of the sea, the roar of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples.
Psa 65:8 And those living in the uttermost parts are afraid of Your signs; You make the outgoings of the morning and the evening to rejoice.
Psa 65:9 You visit the earth and water it; You greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water. You provide their grain, for in this way You have prepared it.
Psa 65:10 You fill its terraces with water. You deepen its furrows. You make it soft with showers. You bless the sprouting of it.
Psa 65:11 You crown the year of Your goodness, and Your paths drip with fatness.
Psa 65:12 The pastures of the wilderness drop, and the little hills gird themselves with joy.
Psa 65:13 The meadows are outfitted with flocks; the valleys are also covered with grain; they shout for joy and sing.

O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
Bow down before Him, His glory proclaim;
With gold of obedience, and incense of lowliness,
Kneel and adore Him: the Lord is His Name!

Low at His feet lay thy burden of carefulness,
High on His heart He will bear it for thee,
And comfort thy sorrows, and answer thy prayerfulness,
Guiding thy steps as may best for thee be.

Fear not to enter His courts in the slenderness
Of the poor wealth thou wouldst reckon as thine;
For truth in its beauty, and love in its tenderness,
These are the offerings to lay on His shrine.

These, though we bring them in trembling and fearfulness,
He will accept for the Name that is dear;
Mornings of joy give for evenings of tearfulness,
Trust for our trembling and hope for our fear.

O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
Bow down before Him, His glory proclaim;
With gold of obedience, and incense of lowliness,
Kneel and adore Him: the Lord is His Name!

Forgive us our hubris, O Lord,
Our pride in our own strength and guile,
our cold-hearted lack of humility,
Our casting your image in our own personal style,
As we preen proudly at all our ability,
And look at the world and gleefully smile
Forgive us our high-handed facility
thinking how much better we are than our brothers.

Forgive us of our selfishness, O Lord
our eyes that see how deep the need,
the grief and the pain of those who share place,
But we go shopping for fun while our brothers bleed,
So busy to get into the next fad and race
To show how cool we are and explain away our greed
by focusing on the unworthiness of the needy.

Forgive us our coldheartedness, O Lord,
When we hear the story of how you died,
How you took our stripes and bore our sin -
As the earth quaked and your mother cried.
And though your death amazed the hardened centurion
We sit there unmoved, bored, dried eyed
And ungratefully try to ignore.

Soften our hearts, O Lord, I pray
Open our eyes this very day.

Amen.

My Sweet Old Pastor from the Church I Used to Attend Before it Closed Down Loved this Hymn, and my Spirit would Soar to the Heavens whenever we would Sing it. My Dear Pastor Belknap has been in Heaven for Several Years Now, No Doubt Singing this Very Hymn Before the Angels of God.

VICTORY IN JESUS Lyrics and Composer: Eugene M. Bartlett, Sr.

I heard an old, old story,
How a Savior came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary
To save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning,
Of His precious blood's atoning,
Then I repented of my sins
And won the victory.

O victory in Jesus,
My Savior, forever.
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory,
Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing,
Of His cleansing pow'r revealing.
How He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see;
And then I cried, "Dear Jesus,
Come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came and bro't
To me the victory.

O victory in Jesus,
My Savior, forever.
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory,
Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about a mansion
He has built for me in glory.
And I heard about the streets of gold
Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing,
And the old redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there
The song of victory.

O victory in Jesus,
My Savior, forever.
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory,
Beneath the cleansing flood.

Let us pray this day, this moment for all those victims of injustice and rage,
those chosen as easy targets by weakness, poorness, age
Injured through life by those who chose selfishness and lust and greed,
Indifference, revenge, selfrighteousness and all the other seed
We use to harm each other.

Lord hear our prayer.

We pray, O Lord,
For all those babies conceived, never to see the day,
for all those killed through violence because they were in the way
for all those touched by terrorism, exploding in the night
for all those harmed by their loved ones, their pain in open sight
for all those marred by war, and the chains of hate it breeds,
for all those who die marked by our indiference as we ignore their needs,

Lord hear our prayer.

Forgive us, O Lord,
For all those times when we did the deed,
Turning our backs on someone we knew was in need,
For all those times when we were hurried, late, or busy
And pretended as we walked on that we just didn't see
For all the times we let injustice pass us by without a sound,
Knowing some other spokesperson was sure to be found,
For all those times we didn't think to share,
Deceiving ourselves, perhaps, because we didn't really care.
Forgive us for all those times we said the word we knew would hurt,
Wanting to see our enemy wallowing in the dirt.
For all those times we didn't write the letter, pay a visit, make the call,
for all those times we had to be right even if it meant hurting one and all.
Forgive us, Lord, for those we've touched by our own wrongdoing,
when we could have been the tool of your choosing.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Lord, teach us this day to see the need, to feel our brother's pain,
To see with eyes touched by not by dark, but with your light again,
To know that in our brother's ills, you touch our hearts with light
By letting us care for you by caring for his plight.
Forgive us, Lord our hardness, and take our hearts of stone,
And give us hearts that know your love and that you keep as your own.

Amen.

Heavy and dark,
The hard wheat of our lives,
Comes to life with your spark,
O Lord, the leaven that thrives
In the hearts of those who trust in you.

Lifting us up,
Your love is like leaven
A drink from the cup
Of the wonders of heaven
Letting the light of God in.

Like leaven makes light
the heavy hard wheat
May we in your sight
Make all lives more sweet
Through the touch of your love.

May each word that we say,
Each action we do
Reflect your loving way,
Bring the light down from you
To shine in the night.

Psa 2:1 Why have the nations raged and the peoples are meditating on vanity?
Psa 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves; yea, the rulers have plotted together against Jehovah and His Anointed, saying,
Psa 2:3 We will break their bands in two, and throw off their cords from us.
Psa 2:4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall mock at them.
Psa 2:5 Then He will speak to them in His anger, and He will terrify them in His wrath;
Psa 2:6 Yea, I have set My king on My holy mount on Zion.
Psa 2:7 I will declare concerning the statute of Jehovah: He said to Me, You are My Son. Today I have begotten You.
Psa 2:8 Ask of Me, and I will give the nations as Your inheritance; and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession.
Psa 2:9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
Psa 2:10 Now, then, be wise, O kings; be taught, O judges of the earth:
Psa 2:11 Serve Jehovah with fear; yea, rejoice with trembling.
Psa 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Oh the blessings of all those who flee to Him for refuge!

LORD, YOU ARE GOD AND KING OVER THIS EARTH THAT THROWS OFF YOUR RULE AND AUTHORITY.
YOU HAVE GIVEN ALL FOR OUR SAKES.
LET NOT YOUR SON BE TRAMPLED UNDER FOOT ANY LONGER.
THE DAY OF PAYMENT COMES.
WE SHELTER UNDER YOUR WINGS OF REFUGE.

http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/a/t/f/atfourgo.htm

Adore and tremble, for our God
Is a consuming fire!
His jealous eyes His wrath inflame,
And raise His vengeance higher.

Almighty vengeance, how it burns!
How bright His fury glows!
Vast magazines of plagues and storms
Lie treasured for his foes.

Those heaps of wrath, by slow degrees,
Are forced into a flame;
But kindled, oh! how fierce they blaze!
And rend all nature’s frame.

At His approach the mountains flee,
And seek a watery grave:
The frighted sea makes haste away,
And shrinks up every wave.

Through the wide air the mighty rocks
Are swift as hailstones hurled;
Who dares engage His fiery rage
That shakes the solid world?

Yet, mighty God, Thy sovereign grace
Sits regent on the throne;
The refuge of Thy chosen race
When wrath comes rushing down.

Thy hand shall on rebellious kings
A fiery tempest pour,
While we beneath Thy sheltering wings
Thy just revenge adore.

http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/m/o/morning.htm

Now that the daystar glimmers bright
We suppliantly pray
That He, the uncreated Light,
May guide us on our way.

No sinful word, nor deed of wrong,
Nor thoughts that idly rove,
But simple truth be on our tongue,
And in our hearts be love.

And while the hours in order flow,
O Christ, securely fence
Our gates, beleaguered by the foe,
The gate of every sense.

And grant that to Thine honor, Lord,
Our daily toil may tend;
That we begin it at Thy Word,
And in Thy favor end.

To God the Father glory be,
And to His only Son,
And to the Spirit, One and Three,
While endless ages run.
--Ambrose of Milan, 340-397

Psa 90:1 A Prayer of Moses, the Man of God. O Lord, You have been our dwelling-place in all generations.
Psa 90:2 Before the mountains were born, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting You are God.
..........
Psa 90:14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Psa 90:15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, and for as many years as we have seen evil.
Psa 90:16 Let your work be shown to your servants, and your glorious power to their children.
Psa 90:17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!

FATHER in Heaven, we bow before you this morning with all that we are and have, which was all given to us by your gracious hand.
May it be that we Glorify you today.
Let us be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath.
Keep us by the Mighty Name of the Ever Wonderful, Powerful, and Magnificent Jesus our LORD.

Finally, I found this thread again! I couldn't think of the title.

A friend of mine asked me to post a prayer request for her friend, LaVerne, in Pennsylvania. It's been a while since she asked and I don't have the details any longer, but the general needs are these.

She had cancer, was treated, and now she has it again (I think my friend said she has breast cancer again and that it has spread to her bones). LaVerne is 50. She has some other afflictions that make it difficult for her to do things, and her family is not able to do much to help her. This is a life-or-death reucrrence of cancer and LaVerne is not strong.

She knows the Lord Jesus as her Savior.

Please pray for her. Thank you.
