Dear Precious People,
So here's the thing.......
It would be easy to get behind a political solution to Godless liberalism in this country, but I don't think that a political party is directly the answer. (I am not advocating abandoning civic and political activity)
In Jesus' day, the Jews were looking for a Messiah who would be a political solution to the Roman occupation and they missed Him in their very midst.
Even now, our country has missed Jesus for a large part, and so I think that we need to ask the Lord to do a NEW thing in this land to return us to the good old way......Alexis deToqueville said in 1839 that America was great because America was good...(which overlooks the ugly blight of slavery at that time)...we're talking OLD. They were not, as a nation, ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ at that time.
My heart is prostrate because of this matter.
I am glad we are all praying together. We mustn't give up, or wear out.

Jer 6:16 Thus says the LORD: "Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.'

If 9/11 wasn't enough to make a lasting impression, we must pray hard that the Lord won't need to apply stronger chastening.

Let it be this way, Lord....

Act 2:36 Let all the house of Israel (here substitute America) therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified."
Act 2:37 Now when they heard this they were CUT TO THE HEART, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

In Jesus' Name
bp

This Is Heaven

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead. He remembered dying, and that the dog had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight. When he was standing before it, he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother of pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold.

He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side. When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, where are we?"
"This is Heaven, sir," the man answered.
"Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.
"Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up." The man gestured, and the gate began to open.
"Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?" the traveler asked.
"I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."

The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going. After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road which led through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.

"Excuse me!" he called to the reader. "Do you have any water?"
"Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there" The man pointed to a place that couldn't be seen from outside the gate. "Come on in."
"How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog.
"There should be a bowl by the pump."
They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it. The traveler filled the bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.

When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree waiting for them.
"What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.
"This is Heaven," was the answer.
"Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "The man down the road said that was Heaven, too."
"Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's Hell."
"Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?"
"No. I can see how you might think so, but we're just happy that they screen out the folks who'll leave their best friends behind."

Maybe it's a legend, but then, legends come from truth.

The story of humans.

In my best Yoda voice....

Unique, we are.

Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Psa 51:11 Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Psa 51:12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Psa 51:13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.
Psa 51:14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness.
Psa 51:15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.
Psa 51:16 For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.
Psa 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Evening prayer bump

Lord, this evening, I pray for those most in need of prayer - you know their names. I pray that you help them as they need it.

This evening I pray for those who feel that their situation is hopeless. Show them the reason to hope.

I pray for leaders. May they remember their Judge, and strive for justice and putting the needs of their people above gain or power or any ideology that interfers with that.

I pray that we who call you Master will open our hearts and minds always to your voice, and be there when you ask of us.

May we take your words into our heart and let them transform our lives, this day and always.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

God make sin exceedingly sinful to us... so we walk away from it's luring and pitfall.

Amen, Polly.
Psa 34:2 My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad.
Psa 34:3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!
Psa 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Psa 34:5 Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.
Psa 34:6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.
Psa 34:7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
Psa 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Psa 34:9 Oh, fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack!
Psa 34:10 The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Psa 34:11 Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Psa 34:12 What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good?
Psa 34:13 Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.
Psa 34:14 Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Psa 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.
Psa 34:16 The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
Psa 34:17 When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
Psa 34:18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
Psa 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
Psa 34:20 He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.
Psa 34:21 Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
Psa 34:22 The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

Night prayer bump

Lord, be with us this night, and keep our loved ones, and those most in need in the palm of your hand. In you we hope, and trust and have our being. Help us walk with you each step of the way.

Amen.

The Pilgrim's Journey

The sun sinks low near the end of the day
As my weary back bends beneath its load.
My mind is filled with sweet thoughts of home
That waits for me at the end of the road.

At times each step seems so hard to take,
My hands do shake and my knees grow weak,
Yet far ahead the road leads on,
To the place I go, to the home I seek.

Some may think that I walk in vain,
Step after step on this pilgrim's way,
They think me foolish for what I do,
Glance while I pass, and then turn away.

And yet they wonder where comes the strength
To love when others would choose to hate,
To ease the pain of another's load,
To try when others curse their fate.

It is not I who can do this thing,
It is not I who is strong, you see --
The joy, the peace, the strength within
To take each step, it is not me.

It only looks like I walk alone,
Another carries me along the way.
He gave his life to set me free
And brings me home at the end of the day.

O Jesus, you whisper into my heart
The words of life that set me free,
Your arms are strength where I am weak,
When I fall down you carry me.

And though the valley ahead seems dark,
O Good Shepherd you comfort me,
It will be but the pathway home,
And where you lead, I long to be.

Unto You, O Lord, we return with glorious praise, for Your Living Word reveals that affliction will come to Your children, but You are our Mighty Deliverer!

And affliction will come to the wicked, but they will be slain, and those who hate Your children will be condemned.

And so we rest in the Absolute Authority of Your Word, Heavenly Father. May we this night, and this day, praise You for the safety of our soul ... but O, Merciful Father, that others might know this blessed assurance.

Thank you Father for your Truth and your Word in which we abide and trust. Thankyou that by it we may know reality and have no fear.
Bless and help your people today. Strengthen us with your hand which is always moving for us.
I pray that you would continue to sanctify us. Please heal and wash and revive our land.

Psa 27:1 Of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psa 27:2 When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.
Psa 27:3 Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.
Psa 27:4 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.
Psa 27:5 For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.
Psa 27:6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in his tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the LORD.
Psa 27:7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me!
Psa 27:8 You have said, "Seek my face." My heart says to you, "Your face, LORD, do I seek."
Psa 27:9 Hide not your face from me. Turn not your servant away in anger, O you who have been my help. Cast me not off; forsake me not, O God of my salvation!
Psa 27:10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me in.
Psa 27:11 Teach me your way, O LORD, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.
Psa 27:12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence.
Psa 27:13 I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living!
Psa 27:14 Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
