I've read a few stories in the past few days saying that UPS is in the process of re-examining their position on the A380F. Nothing worth posting yet, but if they cancel, this might be good news for EADS.

If UPS bows out, the A380F may be cancelled altogether which would let 25 production slots open up for anxious carriers.

Also, remember that the 550 Passenger A380 is only a starting point. EADS has plans to stretch the fuselage, return the seat pitch to current standards, and stuff 800+ into them (hence the 800 passenger egress testing last March.)

The plane may never turn a profit, but I don't think it is going the way of the Concorde with only a dozen sold.
