Remember the Hamas election

Does everyone remember the Palestinian election in which Hamas did so well? In that event an organization built on hatred and rage all of a sudden found itself in a governing situation. The result has been disaster for them.

The same will be true of a Democratic Congress. They did a real good job heckling the President on everything he said and did. They talked the talk, now they must walk the walk. As Hamas is learning, vitriol and rage do not lend well to effective government. Pelosi will learn that lesson too.

They have to do something besides kvetch and moan, and we get to play offense for a while.
It would be better if we had won, though.

Since Pelosi is incapable of learning, expect the House to dissolve into a partisan morass.

It makes sense, since there will be more asses in there.

Also those Americans will learn as well during the next two years.

I am happy that Sen. Joe got back in. Since he will not answer to any political party, he could during the next two years become an elder statesman.

Plus this will give the GOP time to rebuild and retool. The next two years will make for a great comeback since Nancy will not be able to lead.

I disagree (or hope you are right, but am not confident that you are right.) As long as the hated Bush is President, they can continue to blame everything bad on him.

BTW, if Bill Clinton were President now, with everything exactly the same (war and economy and everything) the mainstream media would be touting this as the greatest era of economic prosperity in history. There would be Time and Newsweek covers referring to this as a "Golden Age." They would be touting Clinton as a great wartime President doing a hard job well.

As long as Bush is President, unemployment numbers that are some of best in history will always be followed with the language "but job gains were not as great as many experts expected." The job gain numbers for the preceding six months will be adjusted up dramatically, but each new month's numbers will carry that "not as much job gain as analysts predicted" language.

I saw part of her victory speech last night. Good grief, she looks like a zombie. She kept repeating how they - the DUmmies - are going to work in a bipartisan manner unlike their predecessors. I filled the bathroom trash can. How they are going to "change" the course in the Iraq war as opposed to "staying the course". Sounds bipartisan doesn't it? NOT! She is the essence of evil. Please tell me our government can survive this onslaught. There is no Republic form of government in their plans what-so-ever.

I'm in shock. Nervous shock. Scared even.

Pelosi won't learn $hit.
Actually, I like your comparison to Hamas. Both Hamas and the Democratic Party seek to destroy America as we know it.

The RATS will make mistakes. They have been so angry at being out of power for 12 years (Congress) since they were in power for so long. Hopefully, it will show, and Americans will eventually kick them out. I fear that the focus will be on Iraq, and unless the Iraqi leadership gets some cojones, it may not get much better in the next two years.

One of the things Pelosi and Schumer did was openly sell out to fascists and truly eccentric Republicans to get their margin of victory.

If they'd run with only regular Democrats they'd not made it. There are 12 former Republicans who won House seats as Dems.

I don't think the Nancy woman can govern with this set-up.

It takes a while to how not to be the opposition party (something I don't think the GOP has mastered, either, fwiw), and I suspect we will see a couple of years of bad government. But when '08 comes around, the party people will be mad at won't be the republicans.

And the national polarization will continue.

"Please tell me our government can survive this onslaught."

We will survive. This Republic has survived many times with the Democrats in charge.

It is a setback, to be sure, but we will prevail.

Keep your chin up and don't quit working for what you believe in!

I hope you're right. We're going to have to be vocal and active, though, and put up every bit as much resistance as we got from the dems.

So true - if this country can survive a Jimmy Carter presidency, we can survive anything
