The GOP has been controlled by moderates and fools with socialist tendencies for some time now. 1994 is a distant faded memory, and those Contract With AMerica people are no longer effective in any way. The DC power structure has long ago neutered that voice.
We conservatives have been saying it, we've seen this day coming, but noooooo, we're just trolls. Now here we are.

Yeah, isn't it great the way people on this site are blaming the base for not showing up? The reality is the Republicans had no ideas going in to this election. Their only hope was to say, "Why, you don't want to stay home on Election Day, sonny--you'll elect a Democrat. Boogie-boogie-boogie!
Once again, you can't win with nothing. Blaming the base for the loss you brought on yourself is a Democrat tactic. The Republican party needs ot sit down and have a Council of Trent. The party needs to return to its roots of true conservatism and get some new ideas. Just remember, you can't win with nothing.
