Republicans and conservatives attacked our President and Commander in Chief during war time.

As far as politics are concerned, ineptitude is the only real sin in warfare. The war hasn't been run well. Democrats didn't like the war, and once they realized that Republicans were unhappy about how it was being run, they felt safe in criticizing it. The Republican line held for a long time, but unhappiness over the situation ran very deep. It was just a matter of time before the ranks started to break.

President Bush has the 'vision thing', and he understands that we need to confront militant Islam. His courage in being the first to really raise the banner and charge the enemy's positions will always be remembered. Hopefully, his strategic mistakes will be remembered sepearately from his visionary ones, and not be repeated.

Nonsense.

This war is three years old and you use words like "long time"

That is ridiculous.

Moreover, this war has been a huge success by any empirical standard. The media imposed a total blockade on positive interpretations of Iraq. Bush's comments were ample but always deprived of a context of supporters.

Republicans and conservatives have always been happy to collaborate with traitors at the slightest sense of offense (immigration).

Its too bad this McWar didn't meet your high standards.

No, people who should KNOW better keep aiding the Democrat Noise machine attack on Iraq policy.

NOTHING in War is perfect. This constant need to whine because things are not being done the way this person thinks it should is what feeds this negativity about Iraq

Counter Insurgency is NOT Total War. Different Mission, different tactics, different problems. This inability of Americans to get out of their War Movie mindset of easy answers and painless victories is the cause of this simplistic nonsense about Iraq.

Forget any sort of muscular US Policy. Now we will sit and do nothing until they hit us. They we will do limp wrists ineffective responses and we will get hit again and again and again. Simply because the American people cannot be bothers with anything more complex then a Rambo movie style war.

The Russians followed this Wage Total War Doctrine purposed by the "Iraq is a mess" crowd in dealing with Afghanistan. How did that work out for them?

He made no strategic mistakes. Way past time people start considering the map of the ME and really think about where Iraq is. ALSO way past time for people to remember the situation prior to 2003. There was NO other Strategic choice but Iraq. We had the moral legal and political grounds to do Iraq. We had NO such justifications to go ANY where else after Afghanistan. "Bush Stategic Mistakes" is utter nonsense.

The American people waved the white flag on the war on radical Islam yesterday. The notion that the Always Complaining can some how save the war and still blame Bush for their inability to actually learn the facts about Iraq is sick fantasy. Iraq is not a mess. Iraq IS a war. And now on the verge of victory you all just handed the US defeat.

Counter Insurgency is as much political as Military. You all were so busy posturing as being cynical you lost all touch with being wise. This inability of Conservatives to actually stand up and be fore something without all the pseudo intellectual posturing, knee jerk cynicism and relentless hair splitting inanities is our fatal Achilles Heel. All our foes have to do is wait and the Always Whining will talk victory into defeat all the while patting themselves on the back about how smart they all are lecturing the professional on how to do a job they know next to nothing about.

It was this simple inability of Conservative Talking Heads to actually TALK truth on Iraq instead of always playing backseat driver that changed the perceptions on Iraq. Pretty hard to win a war when 40% of your squad spends all its time shooting it own leaders in the back.

Well you all shall now reap as you have sown.
