'worthless' beats 'dangerous enemy of America's interests, freedom and prosperity' which is where Kennedy comes down.

Freepers need to WAKE up. We need to hang together or we hang separately. Some horribly leftwing senators - Hillary and Kennedy - won in a cakewalk!

Why? Why are their horrible and destructive policies and views unquestionably popular?

Why are you whining about RINOs and not looking at the big donkey in the room, the fact that nearly 50% of Americans buy into the Democr*p liberal nostrums.

That is the real problem, not some RINOs.

I'm not sure that, had he won, I would have wanted our majority to depend on how much loyalty Linc Chafee felt to the GOP caucus, because I'm not really sure he felt that much. So to that extent, I agree.

"I'm not sure that, had he won, I would have wanted our majority to depend on how much loyalty Linc Chafee"

EXACTLY the point. Had he won we could NOT rely on ANY vote from him. Win OR lose he was useless to the GOP!

I'm happy that he lost.
Where Republicans see a problem, conservatives visualize opportunity.

Dude, Chafee has a 26% conservative voting record.

His is lower than many DEMOCRATS!!

Chafee is NO HELP to the GOP and NEVER was.

Well "DUDE," it won't much matter now will it?

Now with the apparent Dhimi control of the Senate, we can kiss goodbye any chance we had (albeit slight) of getting another Conservative on the bench for the SCOTUS.

That ought to make you sleep well tonight.

Wrong.

Chaffee was good for organizing the Senate leadership and committee assignments.

See there you go not making yourself clear. Try doing so if you don't want people putting words in your mouth. If you are suggesting I am a liberal people who know me would laugh you off this site.

His vote was worthless. If the Senate was 50/50, he would have switched parties anyway. Of all the people who lost tonight, he was one of the few who really deserved to lose.

The problem is not too many "blue state" RINO congresscritters, it's too many "red state" Democrat congresscritters. Find a way to get rid of the Kent Conrads, the Max Baucases and the Brian Dorgans and the RINOs will truly become expendable (and/or a lot more conservative) once again.

Yes, I am glad we wiped our feet of him. He pulled the party in the wrong direction.

When we win without him, it will be MUCH better.

Pelosi won't just be out front spewing her dopey ideology.

She will Actively be DOING her pro-abort, pro-gay ideology!

"I am absolutely determined not to go negative with these results. I firmly believe that the D's will eat themselves in the power grab. The country is not liberal and the D's should understand this. I believe that Iraq played a huge role in these outcomes."

Excellent post. Part of the bigger problem for the GOP is the fact that the "gentlemanly" GOP congressmen refuse to fight dirty, they won't fight back like the scrappier rats do. Look at all the crap we suffered: they failed to craft a workable SS plan, they messed around with the illegal issue and we don't have anything at all good to come of it. Every time there was a hint of scandal, the GOP caved to the moonbatmedia and the rats. Hastert handled the Foley mess in a terrible way. Argh.

Watch Ginsburg and the other old commie SCOTUS justice announce their retirement early in Jan, to be replaced by two extreme lefties who are much worse.

What a freaking mess.

Chafee voted against the Iraq invasion.
Chafee admitted that he didn't even vote for Bush in 2004.
Chafee is the only Republican who voted "no" on Sam Alito.

That scumbag Chafee HAD to go. Good friggin riddance.
At least the liberal who took his place will stab us in the front.

You really need to pay attention.

Dude, you really need to learn how to add.

Chafee plus the 49 other senators equals 50.

It doesn't matter what his voting record was! He was an "R" seat and allowed us to maintain the majority. Now, we don't have the majority. Sure he voted against us, but we still got to control the legislation that made it to the floor and control the debate. We don't get to do that anymore. So, for all of you that failed to vote because a RINO was running, think of this...we lost the majority, conservative judges, the chance to push our ideas on immigration, the chance to fight tax increases, in a nut shell the ability to counter the Dems in the House, because you wanted to send a message to moderates. Hope you are happy. Remember this in '08. If we can't defeat a moderate (liberal) Republican in the primary, we better support him in the general, because we need the majority when all is said and done and the next two years is going to teach us that lesson.
