I would have preferred he won at this point, unless it would have been 50/50 with him winning. He would have then just switched parties in a year or so.

Not Chaffee. Anyone of those close races could have won the senate. Anyone could have made the difference. I don't see the celebrating in anyone of them losing. We lost the senate. Anyone of them could have heldit for us. This attitude of glee over the lost of a Republican even Rino when the balance of power is lost shows in part why we lost.

"Had Lincoln won, we'd have control of all the senate commitees locked up."

You are completely wrong if you imagine that a conservative agenda could have been advanced with as bare a majority as a Linc Chafee win would have given us!!!

We haven't had a conservative direction with a BETTER majority to date!!

Chafee winning would have helped in NO way.

Whoah, when did this happen -- Chafee became a Republican? Last time I looked at voting records, I could have sworn Chafee was a Democrat. ;)

(/sarcasm)

Very true but you think it'll get advanced with the Dems running the Senate? If so then god help you. A Democratic majority in the Senate will lead to a much more liberal Senate. And I don't want to hand them the power to run investigations either.

Actually you need to stop reading into things people say and deciding what they mean FOR them! That is a democrat's way if "listening", ya know.

IDIOT ... IF we had Chafee, at least we'd get to organize the Senate and keep Kennedy out of the committee head chair.

What you fail to see is that *STAFF* write legislation .. and we are just handing over the writing of legislation to *LIBERALS* - completely and 100%.

BE VERY AFRAID.

"but you think it'll get advanced with the Dems running the Senate? If so then god help you."

Well, THAT was a damn stupid thing to say!!

I said we haven't gotten conservative things passed with a MAJORITY of the Senate in the hands of the GOP. Of COURSE we won't get anything conservative passed wiyth a leftist Seate!!!

I am NOT celebrating the loss of the Congress for the GOP, NOR do I expect ANYTHING good to come of this turnover ... but I AM celebrating the defeat of Chafee!!!

He deserved to be beaten regardless.

I am absolutely determined not to go negative with these results. I firmly believe that the D's will eat themselves in the power grab. The country is not liberal and the D's should understand this. I believe that Iraq played a huge role in these outcomes.

Nope, I don't, I am not a troll either. I just try to look on the bright side. DeWine and Chafee were worthless beyond votes on committee assignments.
