Thanks for the info. Does this mean that, for instance, in order to elect Pelosi as speaker, one or both of the Independents must also vote for her? In situations where a Democratic majority is required, must each individual situation/vote obtain the vote of one of the Independents?

You're mixing up the House and the Senate.

Pelosi will likely be voted Speaker of the House.

The Socialist and the Independent are in the Senate.

Dirty Harry Reid the slimeball from Nevada will be the Senate Majority Leader.
