Shame on some of you.
The area around campus happens to be coral gables...populated by wealthy people. Hardly a bad neighborhood.
The U of Miami also happens to have a high graduation rate. (Top 5 in the nation)
Again..Shame on some of you. This is a tragedy.

Yeah...but the Miami football program is made up of goons, thugs, and assorted other scum. Case in point - the Miami-FIU fight and the university's subsequent (non) reaction.

I agree. I'm by no means a Univ. of Miami fan, but this is truly a tragedy for the football world, and of course in general with the murder of a young man. To have to read so far into the thread to even find concern, much less sympathy, is disgusting.
My sincere condolences to Mr. Plata's loved ones and his Hurricanes football family.
