We haven't lost yet...
I predict the next 24 hours will see 1,000 vanities.
I'll drink to that. It's also a loss for America, because I've lived long enough to know the majority rules but it is not always wise.
Thank you for your thoughts. I think my blood pressure is coming down a bit!
Explain Rick Santorum to me.
You are whistling in the dark if you think that any democrat congresss critter will vote pro-gun or pro-life.
History has shown that no matter what the candidates say leading into the election -- when push comes to push they will vote in a block with most liberal of rats.
Fact of life, amigo.
It's a very good thought. Republicans need to run on the right and govern that way, or the Democrats and RINOS will claw their way to power and eventually bankrupt the country.
Any so called prolife DemonRat won't stay that way for long until the Rat lady Pelosi gets a hold of them.
It was a victory for America hating, Bush Hating leftists. Iraq was the main issue for most of the RAT candidates. This country doesn't deserve leaders like Bush, Cheney and Rove. The ingratitude of voters is astounding. I don't know where this country is heading.
It is historical fact that since WWII the two term presidents have lost 20+ house and more than 5+ senate seats in the mid-term election (per Neal Boortz I believe)
Obviously the night isn't over....but. Two years with this bunch of nutjob democrats in charge should be enough to drive them from power for decades. In my district we expect conservative Tim Walberg to keep the house seat in GOP hands.
Here in Michigan our eminent domain ban will pass with some 80% and the affirmative action ban looks like it will pass with about 60%.
Not that bad of a night really
They're all "talking points" Democrats. They will swing
with the biggest voter base that got them into power, and
it won't be the conservatives...there will be lots of
time for them to institutionalize the socialist, and
PC/hypocrisy and corruption.
All the folks who voted for egalitarianism, "power to the
people" gonna get surprised in about 1 year...guard your
pocketbooks and your property, and your free speech....
...pig
The thing you seem to be missing in your analysis is as clear as day to me, unfortunately. You're being befuddled by turnout, and others are befuddled by the success of certain initiatives.
The simple fact is this:
Most Americans want us out of Iraq.
Not THIS American, but like it or not, that seems to be the case. And we should be very worried because that fact is ALL the Democrats had on their side. They have HIDDEN their agenda and have become the de facto alternative simply because they AREN'T George Bush's party.
That is the simple fact I am getting from an election that takes place in a time of economic prosperity, and a war dragging on (as we have been warned it would). Republican voters aren't "punishing" anyone to "send a message" to be more conservative--you and I might want that message sent, but we are not the average American voter, who doesn't see this as so clear cut.
We have to start grappling with the most important simple fact in today's politics, and it's not surprisingly about the most important foreign policy and defense situation we're facing. Sorry, it's NOT illegal immigration. It's NOT abortion. It's NOT taxes. It's NOY the economy.
The simple fact is this:
Most Americans want us out of Iraq.
If we keep the Seante, we keep the judiciary committee, and Bush's picks get to the floor for an up or down vote.
THAT is how we stay conservative.
. Tonight was a loss for Republicans, not conservatism
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
Please, its not even a loss for republicans yet.
